This is why Alvarado didn't get Pacquiao

this might work in alvarado's favor, if manny destroys rios like i get the feeling he will (rios' flatfooted come forward style is perfect for manny its gonna be brutal) then the rubber match between rios and alvarado will be easier work for alvarado.Comment

As far as talent; Rios and Alvarado are pretty much the same fighter. Plain and simple Rios is the bigger name, period. It's not like mile high KO'd Rios in 1 round and is now being overlooked. If Rios-Alvardo fight again its still 50/50. I do think Alvarado deserves the opportunity to make serious money but I'm ok with Rios-Manny. Besides, Alvarado is adamant about making his first defense in Denver.Comment

It's Rios over Alvarado because Alvarado might use his legs a bit, which he's done several times in both Rios fights. They don't want that, they want someone who will walk right to Pacman and make him look phenomenal, not someone who will potentially use his damn head and box.
it's bull**** and a double standardComment

Oh my fuc king god. Mate youre too thick-headed to realise my argument. Read carefully: Pac can be forgiven if he takes Ponce de Leon, he can be forgiven if he takes on Juan Diaz, he can be forgiven if he takes on Singwangcha. Yet you criticize him for fighting Brandon Rios, a dude that can crack his chin? Asking me if hes more of a threat than Mile High is irrelevant because as I said HES OUT FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. A source arguing this would also be appreciated. Besides what does it matter if Mike is more of a threat than Rios when I already said that he can be forgiven if he takes on even lesser opposition? You should be glad that he is fighting people on the level of Rios. ALso I dont understand your last sentence explain again pls.Comment

This is true if Manny was still considered in the top of the heap. He's obvs not in the same league as he once wasComment

My understanding is Alvarado was the first choice as seen in past articles. Then later, some news confirmed it's Alvarado. Something must have happened along the way, like drawing power consideration, etc.
It's certainly not because one is easier than the other. We all know that these two guys (Rios, Alvarado) always had a 50/50 fight, and the trilogy will most likely be the same. You gotta be an idiot to claim one is easier than the other.Comment

how can i contradict myself if i havent say anything of that nature ... one thing you can't "school" me lol second thing is i dont read everybody paragraphs ... i'm staying on the point of your dumb thread ... other people could argue what they want .. i'm saying is pac needs to get his feet wet .. these fighters are not machines he's not a 25 no more ... you make it sound like he's fighting mathew hatton or kendall holt !!! jesus man rios is no joke tough dude not elite tho but shouldn't last more than 6 rounds against pac in a fun lil fight ... alvarado another good fighter also not elite but also shouldn't last against pac... alvarado probably asked for to much who knows we not behind the scenes.. stop trying to bring another man down its not a good lookComment

This is a comeback fight for Pac so either of the 2 is a superb opponent. a less dangerous fighter than these 2 is even acceptable because Pac literally went to sleep in his last fight.Comment
