People are tossing out various arguments with no context whatsoever behind them. They'll argue about weight, catch-weights, etc. and act is if Floyd is somehow immune from any of those things. Did he not come in over the limit against Marquez, which was Marquez first fight at that weight? That was fair? They want to argue over who brings what to the table etc. Canelo is 22 and someday, if keeps on winning, will be a huge PPV draw, but at 22 is far ahead of where Mayweather was at a comparable age. I think Floyd beats the socks off the kid, but I'd still like to see the guy get a shot. Oscar gave Floyd the chance, why can't he return the favor and do the same for Canelo?

SPeaking of no context whatsoever-when ODH fought floyd, floyd was the best fighter in the world so ODH fought him because he knew he could sell the fight and make money. While I agree floyd can sell this fight and make money Canelo right now is NO WHERE NEAR where floyd was as a fighter when he fought ODH.

Beating floyd then and beating Canelo now are not equal. Is that enough context?

If Canelo's size is the reason then Floyd shouldn't have fought Cotto at 154 for that belt. Why fight at 154? Floyd should just vacate the belt or be stripped.

Actually I didn't like, because I don't think Marquez is that good. That was a pure money grab. Let me ask you this, what would be gained by Floyd taking the risk of fighting a guy 20 lbs heavier? Canelo is nothing more than a GBP hype machine, he is nothing special. He is the 154 version of Khan. There is no upside to that fight. If he wins, everyone will say he's supposed to win, if he loses he lost to a younger bigger guy. Fighting Canelo does nothing for him and his legacy.

If Floyd demands that the fight takes place at 147 his most comfortable weight, then what? Will Canelo do that?

Money will vacate the belt...he did that after beating the Golden Boy. OMG there is a difference between weighting 20 lbs on fight night and weighting 2 lbs over (Dinamita/Money)...beside Money beat him with skill...Money did not use size to beat Dinamita at all.

When Floyd was 22, There was De la Hoya and Roy Jones and everybody else. There was not all these PPVs like now

I don't think Canelo is ready yet for Mayweather based on what I saw against Trout, I think him and his team realise that too, the long they wait for the Mayweather fight the better chance he has in winning and making more money doing so, they should take a Cotto fight on PPV, then after he wins they should defend his belts against a good young named fighter and then go after the older Mayweather, but they should work on his stamina in those two fights before Mayweather and then I would favour him over Mayweather.

Trout got robbed against candelo

The 'win' should not have silenced anyone: it was, at worst for Trout, a draw.
In my opinion, he won the fight. He dictated throughout. He got robbed.

I agree with you. I am really surprised that not too many people are up in arms crying robbery. I would have been ok with a draw which would still be UNFAIR.
Canelo did land some power punches but Trout outlanded him and was the busier fighter.

you act like canelo was fighting the bum of the month when in reality it was the undefeated and highly regarded fighter who many picked to beat canelo, champion Austin trout. if struggling with one of the best men in the division is such a bad thing, why even watch boxing?
