This and Schmeling was already a bit past prime when he beat Louis in the first fight.
armstrong was clearly past his prime when he lost to zivic not to mention way above his best fighting weight and boxing a natural welterweight.

as great as armstrong was at his best its still a very good win for zivic, but to put it among the best wins ever is ridiculous imo.

greb over tunney is a good one though, gibbons not so much. again its a great win, but i dont see how it belongs in the discussion of the single greatest win in the history of boxing.

Tyson-Douglas- Cinderella story, Tyson was almost like a god at the time, it is still considered among the biggest upsets in sports history.
Larry Holmes-Butterbean-for comic relief purposes, hey butterbean was undefeated at the time, or was he?

Theres a few, Louis over Schmeling for its historical significance definitely deserves a mention. Also Duran over Leonard was pretty amazing, here you had a 5''7 career lightweight moving up to welter to fight a 5'10 speedster who was one of the greatest most potent ww's ever. And beating him. That is pretty significant.

Ali over Foreman too. And Ali-Liston because it was such an upset and it set the stage for the greatest HW career in the history of the sport.

              - 5'8 MW Greb utterly dominating an ATG LHW and HW in Gene Tunney is up there with any other win and far better than 95% of the **** mentioned in this thread. Way better than Louis beating a past prime Schmeling in their rematch.

              - Tommy Gibbons is a P4P ATG (probably top 50) and Greb handed him his first 2 career losses, his only other 3 being a DQ against Miske, Dempsey and to Tunney when Gibbons was past prime in his very last fight. Tunney wanted nothing to do with him at LHW while Gibbons was in his prime.

The first time Greb beat Gibbons in 1920 it was Gibbons first loss in a 9 year career and in 1922 Gibbons was rated as the #1 HW and lost to Greb in a Title eliminator where Harry beat the **** out of him. Dempsey fought the loser Gibbons and ducked Greb.

^^^ This based on the fact that we even know who Buster is, and it made him a millionaire overnight.

Two fights that came to my mind were Ali over Foreman and Duran over Ali. It is difficult for me to pick one over the other but if my arm was twisted I'd have to go with Ali.
