      Other candidates i think are:

      Duran beating Leonard

      Louis over schmeling

      Clay over liston

      Leonard over hearns

      What do you think??
Duran beating Leonard is DEFINITELY not the greatest win in boxing history because tons of people (myself included) scored the fight for Leonard or a draw.

        Definitely?

Some people had Ali winning the first Frazier fight, but they'd just be fools. By any scoring criteria you want, Duran won the fight. Very few think Leonard won. Vocal yes, but not one really cares because it's just one of the ****** views. If you can't see who won, you can't score. It's literally that simple. Threw more, landed more, hurt Leonard more, got hit less, controlled the pace, controlled the fight, won more rounds and won them clearer.

Anyway, the consensus among the unbiased is a clear win for Duran. A tiny, tiny, tiny minority with whatever bizarre bias make no difference whatsoever to the magnitude of the win.

The minute few who think Ali won the first fight don't make an iota of difference to the importance of the win, 1) because anyone thinking Ali won is an idiot and 2) they are so few and far between it makes no difference.

            Frazier over Ali.

Fight of the century, and the guy basically everyone considers the greatest of all time lost it. Has to be this fight in my opinion...

ali had a 3 year layoff and only took 2 fights before facing frazier , im not knocking the win , i love frazier also but that can't be the best win in boxing history , if ali didn't have the layoff he would be dancing all night popping frazier with lefts and rights all night!

A lot of great examples. The first one that came to my mind was Duran-Leonard 1, that's an obvious choice.

I think in terms of how the win happened, Carter's win over Emile Griffith is up there.

                  There's so many.

I know Duran was slick in his own right, but he wasn't really a cutie like Sugar Ray or Ali.
SRL wasn't really a cutie, he is a boxer puncher who ended up getting suckered into a brawl with Duran. Dumb move by Ray and it cost him. made for a great fight though

                      Frazier-Ali 1, Ali-Foreman, or Duran-Leonard. All immense wins.
