Vocal yes, but not one really cares because it's just one of the ****** views. If you can't see who won, you can't score. It's literally that simple. Threw more, landed more, hurt Leonard more, got hit less, controlled the pace, controlled the fight, won more rounds and won them clearer.

Anyway, the consensus among the unbiased is a clear win for Duran. A tiny, tiny, tiny minority with whatever bizarre bias make no difference whatsoever to the magnitude of the win.

The minute few who think Ali won the first fight don't make an iota of difference to the importance of the win, 1) because anyone thinking Ali won is an idiot and 2) they are so few and far between it makes no difference.
I thought the margin of victory for Frazier over Ali was much greather than Duran's win over SRL. Frazier even put an exclamation point by dropping Ali in the final round, while Duran took the final round off to show off his slipping skills

I thought Duran did beat SRL, but by 1 or 2 points, and in a 15 round contest it won't be nuts without any knockdowns to think that the champion may have received a draw or a one point win. SRL after the bout took a vacation to Hawaii and many told him he should have retained his title.

I do regard the Duran win over SRL as one of the biggest wins in the last 40 years, but not among the top 5 or 10.

Many of the people who vacation in Hawaii are not Americans, this includes Europeans as British and German fans who disagreed with the decision and thought Leonard should have kept his title. I thought Duran won the fight, but don't think your nuts if you thought SRL deserved a draw, as he was also the champion not the challenger.

I have to agree Duran over Ali is the greatest win ever. I mean former lightweight beating the greatest heavyweight of all time. We're did this happen? Fight night?

            Dempsey vs Willard.
Almost a century ago now, but every new generation of fight fans goes digging into the vault of great fights, & every generation goes "Damn, that was most savage thing I've ever seen!"
I have no doubt that fight fans 100 years from now will be saying exactly the same thing...

Ali/Frazier 3, in my opinion was a much bigger fight. Both have said how close they came to dieing in the ring that night in Manila!

Dempsey/Willard, was a huge for heavyweight division, and still considered the most brutal beating. Dempsey broke Willards Jaw, Multiple Ribs, Orbital Socket, and Knocked out several teeth in One Round.

Jones/Toney, Both undefeated middleweights and both at that point the best fighters in the sport.
