Hagler is too much of a fighter for B-Hop hth.I don't think Hop would be able to slow the fight down to a pace he would like to work at. Another thing these people should consider is that Hagler himself is a 15 round fighter. Meaning he'll push the pace hard for 12 rounds. Hop would get easily outworked by Hagler imo.
How do YOU look at it?

Watch the Echols fight, and tell me that Hopkins wasn't a mover. SMDH.Hagler is a better boxer technically than B-Hop, he is much more versatile. It probably would be a close fight because B-Hop does that, but Hagler all day he would make it work. I don't think B-Hop could stop him while maintaining a reasonable level of offense.
Hagler's big problem was with were cutesy movers, B-Hop ain't ever been a mover and for all his tricks he ain't a cute boxer.
Hopkins would move plenty against Hagler. Not to mention, he would ambush Hagler as well. You know not of what you speak.Comment

I'd red K your dumb ass, but it says I can't give you anymore reputation points. I must have green K'd you for hating on Canelo. Trout fan boy through and through. Excellent, thanks for the green!! You're response to my post talking about Hop & Hagler is all class. Do you take class pointers from Floyd?? Looks like it.Comment

I have seen most all B-Hops fights since the Jones fight~
So you are saying B-Hop can do what Sugar Ray Leonard did perfectly or better than him.
I can look at Sugar Ray's career and can see the legs that was his prime form of defense, B-Hop ain't a statue but he isn't a rabbit, Ray Leonard was versatile but he was a rabbit when he wanted to be.Comment

You act like Hagler was a come at you, non stop aggression type fighter, in all his fights. I think the Hearns fight fooled you my friend. He starts slow, and usually starts off in the center of the ring, boxing.I have seen most all B-Hops fights since the Jones fight~

And you also act like Hopkins has to use Sugar Ray's tactic to win.Comment

No, but I think you take hating pointers from Floyd. Only way to quantify how much you hate Canelo. It's pretty sickening.Comment

I think this guy hit the nail on the head.Marvin at times fought Duran's fight, and he fought Leonard's fight. This makes me worry about Marvin controlling the action against a guy like Hopkins. I see Bernard moving, landing a few clean lead shots or counters, tying Marvin up when he gets close, and at times exchangeing with him on the inside, where he will hold his own with Hagler. His superior height and reach, footwork, defense, slightly faster hands, and countering skills lead him to a decision in a very competitive fight that Hopkins simply controlled most of. Also, I don't know if Hagler is physically stronger than prime Hopkins. He'd have a few problems being able to back Bernard up or even get the better of inside exchanges due to Bernard's rough tactics (although Hagler was equally rough). I don't see Marvin changing this from a Hopkins fight, and I don't think he has the physical talent or even the skills (he was great in both departments though) of beating a prime Hopkins if the fight goes the way Hopkins wishes. To put it shortly, in this battle between two great all-around fighters, I simply feel Hopkins was the smarter fighter. Hagler isn't going to beat a smarter fight than him IMO. Maybe I'm overrating Hopkins here, but the only clear advantage I give Hagler is power. Apart from that, wherever there is an edge, I personally feel it goes to Hopkins. Close but clear decision for The Executioner.Comment
