Keep in mind B-Hop was a PPV fighter at one point. He did 350,000 buys vs. Taylor, 370,000 vs. Taylor 2, 330,000 vs. Tarver, 305,000 vs. Wright, 190,000 vs. Pavlik and 150,000 vs. Roy.

Hopkins got to that level by beating De La Hoya and Trinidad, two big names. I think Ward's best bet to get to that level would be Chavez Jr. who is probably the most popular guy from 160-175.

Yeah, I don't think any of the top fights mentioned were ppv bro.

The Winky fight may have been & JC, but I'm almost certain the rest weren't.

            Naw they were PPVs.

And even Hopkins himself wasn't a choir boy. Prison background, supreme **** talker, smacked the PR Flag out of Tito's hand or was it Kings hand.

I think a run of names like Hopkins, Pavlik, Chavez Jr., Pascal-Bute winner, Froch-Kessler winner, Martinez and even J.Taylor if he could get a couple of wins would help Ward's exposure.

yeah I think it helps as controversy sells in almost any form, i just don't believe it's the major determinant.

Broner's controversial but they're still having to match him against bigger name fighters to promote him and he's also using his relationship/likeness to another big name fighter in Mayweather to try to promote himself.

Which isnt good considering he stopped DLH and Waxed TIto... two of the biggest superstars in boxing at the time.

                ROY-TITO did 500k.

It didn't help Bernard and he beat ODH, Tito, Pavlik, Winky, Tarver, Pascal, and hes a **** talker to the nth degree, known as a hard old school fighter from Philly.

His exposure is still weak to this day.

Controversy sells big time. With African American fighters its just different. I mean think about how messed up it is that Broner a guy who has done very little will be a PPV fighter before Ward.

Hes not a better fighter. He doesnt have a better resume. But he will most likely earn more than Ward will in his career. Sad but true.

much more exciting, fan friendly style broner has. Of course acting like a freak all the time also helps get him noticed
