And who'd they fight? I'm sure it wasn't guys like Guerrero, Alexander, and a bunch of other scrubs.

    Barring Tyson.

If you nor I know what Floyd is making, then why bring up money as an excuse?? We know he's getting paid by showtime ti fight there, that's it. So how are you gonna say "well he won't make any money fighting Trout when you yourself don't know what the hell you're talking about??
you defined it as an excuse that doesn't make it one. you aksed for a reason, I answere then you say its an excuse. you create a problem where there is none. others said the same.

we all know floyd isn't going to 154 to clean out the divison. we all know why he fought odh and cotto at 154 and why he is entertaining a canelo fight. trout doesnt fit this bill. of course this has been discussed.

you just said floyd gets the same no matter who he fights when you dont know what he gets. so you use money as a reason why they can fight yet complain when I use the lack of it as an explanation why I dont think he'd fight trout. you assume he's getting the same without any factual knowledge to justify your arguemnt. I didn't do that.

You still wont answer my question unlike chav because you know there hasnt been one fighter in history that chooses challenge over money. their promoters and managers wouldn't let them.

I never said he wouldnt make any money fightinf trout did I? i didn't imply it either.

the bottom line is I don see floyd fighting at 154 unless it is uber profitable-like cotto or ODH. I dont see him going up there for a fight when there are fighters in his weight class that will bring as much or slightly more profit than trout.

I don't know but I think it's very likely if Trout beats Canelo and Alexander beats Brook.

I don't think Mayweather fighting Trout is out of the question though, just unlikely in that circumstance.

I can respect your point but I just haven't seen anyone ever do that.

Check their resume's. That was the complaint about roy in his heyday. either way network deals are not new.

Move up in weight? Has he given up his SWW belt?

is it not the same belt Trout has? its pretty obvious he will only move up to fight Canelo at that weight or Maybe Martinez not a guy 99.9% of boxing fans didn't know existed this time last year

The guy is presently a titlist at 154, rated #1 everywhere. Again, why would he have to move up to face a super welter? He just needs the defend his belt. Unless you feel it's a pretend belt.

Or if Trout beats Canelo, he can unify against the guy who'd just made himself a name taking out 2 of the biggest, most marketable stars at 154.

If Trout beats Canelo, a Mayweather/Trout fight would be huge... the guy would be on an upset streak.

There was a post on here saying he wouldn't get prestige for a Trout win. Are you serious? It'd be for the lineal 154 championship.. Against a guy many think he'd lose against due to size.

If he fought Trout, he'd get so much more respect. Trout would be a huge challenge for him

Miguel Cotto fought Austin Trout when he could have fought canelo.
