Why do BK fighters always say Brooklyn as if it makes them tough?

The thing which irritates me the most to the point where I cringe is when black people refer to themselves as the "N-word". Why would they use a word that was used as a derogatory slur against their forefathers. You don't hear the ***s boastfully referring to themselves as "K-word" or chinese as "C-word".Last edited by Prince-Naz; 03-07-2013, 08:27 AM.

LLS at this thread being when I brought up this exact point about Guerrero father doing the exact samething. Talking about "I'm from the barrio" like that actually means something. It's really sad when people do that and most times the people who do that ain't really about nothing or that life.

This bum 34 year old boxer tries to call out a young fmr olympia and drops the Brooklyn threat

Brooklyn had great amateurs back in the early 00's, Curtis Stevens, Gary Stark, Jaidon Codrington, Joe Greene, Danny Jacobs but none of those guys have evolved into solid professionals...well Danny had some circumstances but the writing's on the wall...

idk.. why do ppl from philly do it? or puerto rico? or mexico?
why does anyone take pride in where they are from?
it makes sense for fighters from brooklyn to take pride in their origin, im not sure if theres a single city that produced more champions and world class fighters than brooklyn. hell its not even a city.
brooklyn indeed makes you tough, as will any rough place. a huge amount of champions came from there as well. makes sense for the fighters to take pride in being from brooklyn and continue the tradition by representing their city.
