Same thing goes Guerrero's father saying "Im from the Barrio" and all this crap. Man some of the people from rougher areas are the biggest b*tches I've seen. I saw it growing up and have seen it even more so with this younger generation.
Why do BK fighters always say Brooklyn as if it makes them tough?

Cuz a lotta of us black folks are ****** and don't respect or acknowledge our history...and I don't care if u spell it with a "er" or a "ga" its the same word...
True, I don't think Curtis was really putting 100% into his training either...no way should he have lost to Jesse Brinkley, I mean come on...Those are some pretty entertaining fighters listed tough. I wonder if they fought each other regulary as AM's? I have to say, I like curtis stevens, tank of a man who hits dam hard. Just a shame it's taken a couple of losses for him to finally realise he needs to move down in weight because he is so short.
Curtis Stevens, Gary Stark, Jaidon Codrington, Joe Greene, Danny Jacobs
Danny had health issues but he's still climbing his way back to the top, Jaidon just got caught with a deadly punch, I wouldn't blame him if he ever laced up the Gloves again (I think he did retire), and Joe only fights once in a blue moon...kinda sucks, I hope this next wave of NYC boxers can make some noise (Marcus Browne, Eddie Gomez, Zachary Ochoa, Patrick Day, and a few others).Comment

Brooklyn is just another Manhattan now
back during the days of the Brooklyn Dodgers, it USED to be its own city, with its own personality.
Lots of immigrants and black folks who made Brooklyn what it was and it was the perfect place for Jackie Robinson to integrate into baseball. This was the time it got its reputation. No nonsense, tough, working class people.
Now its just full of hipsters and really the people repping brooklyn are no different from people in the Bronx.
Being from Brooklyn means absolutely nothing, your nothing special. Get over yourself you hipster clownsComment

I remember visiting my aunt in New York City, and this was when I was younger. We took one of those ****** uptown bus tour things, because I'd never been to NYC before. And this was back in like 2002, so I can't imagine now.....but the tour guide guy said even in Harlem, which is now being gentrified and everything, that you can't get rent any cheaper than like 1500 a month or some s**t. I was like who the f**k would live in this city for these prices, no offense to anyone or anything. I thought California and places in Colorado were ridiculous for prices, but NYC takes the cake, for the places I've been at least.Brooklyn is just another Manhattan now
