Kassim Ouma comes from a place that makes Brooklyn look like disneyland.

I'm from New York and that Brooklyn macho crap is just some rep that these dudes try to live on from back in the day...basically cuz Brooklyn dudes back in the day didn't give a damn and were quick to start a fight, shoot somebody, or anything you name...and some of them are still built like that, but for what? A long trip Up North to jail! Just ****** ****** mentality...

All that crap means NOTHING to boxing though...name the last great fighter to come outta Brooklyn...I'll wait

Funny thing is Marcus Browne is from Staten Island but he's lived in Brooklyn and Queens before

Now I do think Marcus has shown mental weakness before, (go watch his fight with Terbunja and even the Olympics bout) but this Mateen guy who aint did nothing since winning the New York Golden Gloves back in like 2002 isn't really in the position to be barking at Marcus like that lol

To be fair I think there is some link to boxing, I remember reading recently that Brooklyn (or was it Brownsville specifically?) had produced more boxing champions than anywhere else.

Yeah you could kinda see it in the olympics. Looked like a better version of Allan Green. Very talented though, he'll probably still go pretty far.

Maybe but I can't really remember any since Tyson and Bowe...but I guess u have Sechew Powell and other guys winning little alphabet belts...

And that was back in the 90's...

Brooklyn had great amateurs back in the early 00's, Curtis Stevens, Gary Stark, Jaidon Codrington, Joe Greene, Danny Jacobs but none of those guys have evolved into solid professionals...well Danny had some circumstances but the writing's on the wall...
