Vitali's legacy

Solis was knocked down by what may seem as a grazing shot but I've seen those types of shots before and guys have gone down. What kept Solis down was his knee, he probably would have got back up if it hadn't been for the fact that he twisted it as he fell. If Solis wasn't ready or was injured he shouldn't have been in the ring with the HW champ of the world, no excuses. The OP has exposed himself as a blind nuthugger by claiming that it was a temple shot that knocked out Solis.
Solis badly damaged his knee in that fight, that's a proven fact. That "temple shot" hardly grazed him. As a previous poster said, even Vitali himself knew that it wasn't his shot that ended it.
OT: When basing greatness one has to go by resume. And Vitali lacks in that department.
Rid**** Bowe was "greater" than Vitali. And arguably better H2H too.
Let's be serious, Bowe was not greater than Vitali, he was unreliable, out of shape and very rarely motivated, Vitali would hurt him and break him down. His only great victory was Holyfield (Exceptional win no doubt but can't base an entire career on one win).Comment

If there were one title he would not own it only because of Wladimir.
Don't forget, Vitali was the lineal champ from the Sanders fight until he retired. So technically, you're completely wrong and oviously just a hater.Comment
-
Lol going by that logic, I could also say that Sanders/Wlad were never the lineal champ since neither of them beat lennox lewis.Comment

What part about Vitali beating Sanders for the Ring title don't you get? He only relinquished it to retire. Why such the hate for Vitali? I'm just curious?
Let's be honest for once sir.Comment

Maybe because he never fights the best, yet his fans claim him to be an ATG.
Maybe because both Klitschko's stink the place out every time they fight, whilst holding the belts hostage in Germany.Comment

If Vitali had fought all on that list he would have had 70-80 fights. Taking out his 4 year layoff, he would have had to fight 6/7 times a year!
Obviously he can't fight everybody right! There is always gonna be a stone unturned. Even Holyfield didn't fight everybody literally!
Vitali I would tip to beat all on the list. Some of them there would have been no motivation for them to fight Vitali, early in his career. Later there would have been no motivation for Vitali to fight some of them!
Tyson - Vitali KO6
Holyfield - Vitali UD
Tua - Vitali UD
Maskaev - Vitali KO6
Rahman -Vitali UD
Ruiz - Vitali KO1
McCline - Vitali KO6
O'Quendo - Vitali KO3
Jones jr - Vitali KO3
Toney - Vitali KO4
Golota - Vitali UD
Brewster - Vitali KO5
Barret - Vitali KO3
Chagaev
Povetkin
Valuev
Dimitrenko
Chambers
Haye
Boystov
Thompson
Helenius
Pulev
Fury
Got sick of it let's cut to the chase. Only fighter he may have ducked was Rahman but I don't buy it. Vitali would have beaten that version of Rahman quite easy imo.
Only fighter I do think he'd struggle with is David Haye!
Can everyone bump this post and read it then put this guy on ignore?

The bolded is exactly what it is. The hate comes from that exactly and these nit-wits are too scared of ashamed to admit it. Pitiful.I don't get the anti-Klitschko bias either. As if the opponents of the past greats were so much superior to the modern era fighters. As you said, many of them wouldn't even be able to fight the Klitschko's today due to weight difference.
But it is exactly just what it is, I guess, people don't like that two super heavies from the Ukraine for more than a decade have been ruling the king division that historically belongs to America.
The Klitschko's will be more appreciated with time though, I feel, after they retire and people have more time to reflect on their true greatness and place in history.Comment
At least you are not completely ignorant.Vitali is not an ATG,
he just didn't do enough, I am suprised to see so many replies, and so many people arguing on his being an ATG.
That said, Vitali is not the "jab-jab-grab" kind of fighter, he opens up quite a bit and relies on his chin. Even though way past his prime now, I would not define Vitali boring, on the contrary, I find his style rather crowd- friendly.
I do though agree about Wladimir being boring, and I like fighters like Rigondeaux , Mayweather , Willie Pep (a white guy, so no racist card please
) etc, but his "jab-jab- grab" style is a nightmare. How many rounds did it take him to dispose of Pianeta?, a guy who obviously had no business being in that fight.
Nobody on here is saying Vitali has the best resume. He may have had a lot greater resume had he not retired for 4 years but it is what it is. Had he not retired, fighting 2 times a year he would be 23-2 in title fights now and would put him on the great heavyweight reign discussion.
That being said, Vitali may not have an ATG resume, but he's an ATG heavyweight fighter. No doubt.
The whole discussion is not based solely on resume, otherwise, Wladimir would be 2nd or 3rd all time right now.
You haters can't have it both ways.Comment
