I like how you "fans" like to throw the word "ducking" around when a fighter doesn't get the fight that he wants. You say Cotto, Canelo and Floyd are ducking him and have been ducking him for several years. Martinez just became relevant two years ago. Second, he's calling out smaller fighters! Who does that? If these guys are ducking Martinez, then Martinez is ducking ward. Don't say you're too small for a weight class and then call out fighters smaller than yourself. And don't give that bull about Martinez being too small for SMW because he walks around at 180.

I didn't know Ward was willing to fight Martinez at 160, I guess it really is the same thing.I like how you "fans" like to throw the word "ducking" around when a fighter doesn't get the fight that he wants. Everyone keeps posting he should fight Mayweather at 154. Sergio can't make 154. This is the same guy who complained about having to come down to 157 to fight Paul Williams. "157" and he complained. For a guy who supposedly wants to contend at 154 surely didn't come off as a guy who was serious about it. It was three pounds. The fight almost didn't happen for three pounds and now he should fight Mayweather at 154? He would kill himself to make the weight. He walks around at 180, not an out of shape 180 but a muscular toned 180. And you expect this guy to make 154? LOLRL! If he wants big money fights, move up and fight the best fighter above 154 in Andre Ward. Oh wait, he's too small for 168 but he calls out 147 and 154lbers. Laughable, he should just rematch Chavez make the money win or lose and go on from there. [/FONTBoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (50-2-2, 28KOs) who has already begun light training for his spring title defense against Martin Murray. The Argentine boxer recently underwent surgery to repair injuries that were thought to have occurred in his September victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1, 32KOs). Martinez said that he has actually had the injuries for a long time and they were worsened in the Chavez fight.

He's not. Ward said he'd fight Martinez at 168. He knows that Martinez isn't a small middleweight like he claims to be. He's shorter, but not small by any comparison. Ward has seen Martinez out in public and even he said that Martinez looked way bigger than your average middleweight. Ward knows that Martinez uses the "I'm too small" line to stay away from what he feels would be a certain L. Look at this, Martinez fights Chavez. Chavez comes in the night of the fight at 190. Ward comes in the night of his fights at 175, so how is it that he's too small to fight Ward but not too small to fight Chavez?Comment

Are any of the 168 pounders willing to come down to 160? Martinez said he would be willing to fight Mayweather at 150 (Mayweather doesn't like catch weights though) whether he can make weight or not is not the point, you have to give him the benefit of doubt, (Ricky Hatton walked around at 170 and made 140 lbs many times). Calling out a person who fought at 154 and won a title at that weight doesn't sound ridiculous to me considering thats the weight Martinez fought at most of his career.Everyone keeps posting he should fight Mayweather at 154. It's not the same thing. Ward has never fought in 160, Ward hasn't challenged Sergio at 160. Sergio is a 154 pounder whether you like it or not. He moved up in weight to get better fights but has said several times that he can move down in weight to fight the big names there anytime. Floyd has fought before at 154, his last fight was there, he has a belt there but he doesn't want to face Sergio even after Sergio has called him out repeatedely for several years. That's ducking, deal with it.I like how you "fans" like to throw the word "ducking" around when a fighter doesn't get the fight that he wants. Are any of the 168lbs calling out smaller guys? I'll wait on that answer! It sounds ridiculous because he's calling out smaller fighters and speaks of himself being too small for a certain weight division. And he can have the benefit of the doubt, but I doubt he makes the weight safely. And if he loses, it would only give critics a reason to downplay a win from whichever smaller fighter he fights. Granted Ricky Hatton made 140lbs ballooning between fights, but he was shedding fat, Martinez would be shedding muscle. Two different things guy!Are any of the 168 pounders willing to come down to 160? So since you're saying that Sergio is a natural 154lber, that means he can fight Mayweather who is technically a naturally smaller guy? So he would technically still be calling out a smaller guy! So if Mayweather uses the excuse that Martinez is too big, wouldn't that be a viable excuse since Martinez says Ward is too big for him? I'm not understanding why Ward is too big and Chavez wasn't! It's a money thing with Mayweather, it's a confidence thing with Chavez and Ward. He knows he'll be paid if he fights Mayweather, he knows he'll be fighting a smaller fighter in Mayweather, he knows because of his size (Middleweight who has everyone fooled to think he's smaller) that he could possibly win. With Chavez he knew he could beat him, because regardless of who Chavez fought he wasn't ready for that fight with Martinez, that's why Martinez was so confident in fighting him. Chavez naturally is bigger than Ward, so would he have that same confidence to fight Ward? You can say Sergio is a natural 154lber all day, doesn't make him one. Just because he fought there doesn't mean he can make it back there. He fought at 147 also, but he wouldn't make it down to 147. He's 37 years old and will be on his 4th year at 160. He didn't have to eat to make 160 like Pac and May have to eat to make 147 and 154. He is NATURALLY bigger than both of these guys but he has people fooled (YOU) into believing he's smaller. It's not the same thing. Ward has never fought in 160, Ward hasn't challenged Sergio at 160.
