Such a ****ing worthless rematch. How do you win 11 1/2 rounds of a fight and rematch the guy? I get he wants money and nobody else who brings it will fight him, but.....it's just gay. It's a waste of what Sergio has left of good fights.Comment

I get the feeling that TR and WBC are the ones pushing for the rematch, and Sergio is happy to oblige as long as he gets his way in the negotiations. The worst thing that could've happened to us is the KD in the 12th. However, it's the best outcome that could've happened to Sergio.Last edited by kiaba360; 12-27-2012, 08:19 PM.Comment

Dude, how is this so hard for you to understand. Martinez isn't a big MW. This is a guy who repeatedly comes in 2-3 pounds under the MW limit. It's not like Sergio left 154 because he couldn't make the weight, he moved up because he got a shot at Kelly's belts after the fight with Williams fell through.
Just because a 26-year old Chavez can (legal or otherwise) make the MW limit, doesn't mean Martinez should be fighting any 168 lber, much less one of the P4P contenders at that weight. Who the phuck cares if Chavez outweighs Ward? Again, you're trying to make the case that just because Martinez fights a huge Chavez Jr. that means he should just jump to 168 and fight the top dog there. Why? It's not Martinez's fault that Chavez balloons up like 20 pounds. And just because Chavez does, doesn't mean Martinez should be fighting at 168. Don't believe me, ask Andre Ward himself.
Again, Ward isn't going to bash Martinez and say that he's not too small. And also, Ward is 168 p4p not 175. Martinez was 174 30 days out, which shows that the guy isn't small. If Chavez wasn't 190, I'm sure he was close too it. Either way, he still outweighs Ward on fight night. And you basically gave me the answer as to why Martinez was so confident in fighting a bigger Chavez and not so confident in fighting a more skillful Ward. Simply because of the skill level.Comment

Kid chocolate has been tested and has a better resume than Macklin, would whoop him in a fight easy, that other dude he fought last October would get beat by Chocolate and GGG... And no their not bums if Sergio beats them. That is only something a hater would say, Sergio is a great fighter to me or I wouldn't be on his article. Please tell me the last time Sergio fought a smaller guy....? I will wait for the answer....People talk about GGG or Kid Chocolate but do these guys have a better resume than the last 3 or 4 undefeated guys Martinez fought? When facing an undefeated fighter you are getting an unknown package, they are only bums if Martinez whips them. Mayweather talks about "Money" being the only reason he makes a fight. It's all about the money! Why not take fights that make him the most money, Pac, Conello, Martinez.... (Gurrero? lol) He doesnt live up to his name "Money"
I just say why not face big names in your weight class? If their was undefeated nice names at 168 for Ward to take out I would recommend it. And Pac just got slept can't fight until September, Canelo needs to fight Trout or K9 or a true 154 pounder, and Martinez has a fight April 27th, or did you forget??
Either or Sergio has fights at 160 and 168 he doesn't need to drop down, and if he loses the first thing people would cry and say "catch weight" You can't debate with a boxing scholar such as myself. I love the sport more than just a fan of a fighter, so if you require or ask one fighter to do something. The same should be asked for your favorite fighter.Comment

Mayweather came in both 150 and 151 when he fought at jr middle wieght! Simple question should Martinez move up 4 pounds at 164 and catch weight Ward or not?? Or is 4 pounds too much to move up? Ok thenAre any of the 168 pounders willing to come down to 160? Martinez said he would be willing to fight Mayweather at 150 (Mayweather doesn't like catch weights though) whether he can make weight or not is not the point, you have to give him the benefit of doubt, (Ricky Hatton walked around at 170 and made 140 lbs many times). Calling out a person who fought at 154 and won a title at that weight doesn't sound ridiculous to me considering thats the weight Martinez fought at most of his career.Comment

So since you're saying that Sergio is a natural 154lber, that means he can fight Mayweather who is technically a naturally smaller guy? So he would technically still be calling out a smaller guy! So if Mayweather uses the excuse that Martinez is too big, wouldn't that be a viable excuse since Martinez says Ward is too big for him? I'm not understanding why Ward is too big and Chavez wasn't! It's a money thing with Mayweather, it's a confidence thing with Chavez and Ward. He knows he'll be paid if he fights Mayweather, he knows he'll be fighting a smaller fighter in Mayweather, he knows because of his size (Middleweight who has everyone fooled to think he's smaller) that he could possibly win. With Chavez he knew he could beat him, because regardless of who Chavez fought he wasn't ready for that fight with Martinez, that's why Martinez was so confident in fighting him. Chavez naturally is bigger than Ward, so would he have that same confidence to fight Ward? You can say Sergio is a natural 154lber all day, doesn't make him one. Just because he fought there doesn't mean he can make it back there. He fought at 147 also, but he wouldn't make it down to 147. He's 37 years old and will be on his 4th year at 160. He didn't have to eat to make 160 like Pac and May have to eat to make 147 and 154. He is NATURALLY bigger than both of these guys but he has people fooled (YOU) into believing he's smaller.
Their hypocrites bro... They say Martinez is too small for Ward and isn't scared. But they say small people aren't too small for Sergio... it's funny everytime they say Martinez vs smaller fighter. I just say WARD! And they say.. but.. but.. but.. Ward is too big hahaComment

But a month before fight night he weighed 176 or did you miss that?? How come he doesn't ask for a "catch weight" of 164 that is right in the middle. I GUARANTEE if Floyd moved up from WW to 168 Sergio would fight him with no problem. But with Ward "I am too small" and talk about small Floyd came in 150 and 151 for both of his fights at JMWDude, how is this so hard for you to understand. Martinez isn't a big MW. This is a guy who repeatedly comes in 2-3 pounds under the MW limit. It's not like Sergio left 154 because he couldn't make the weight, he moved up because he got a shot at Kelly's belts after the fight with Williams fell through.
