Thats a touch arrogant REED, I know boxing and I disagree with you. The weight was totally alien to Marquez at that time so of course it was going to be a factor. I still think Floyd would have won, but its not unreasonable to suggest that it would have been more competitive had Marquez been used to fighting at that weight.

After Martinez overcomes the "Undefeated(!)" Martin Murray, he should fight Billy Joe Saunders because his run has been that amazing.

      Yet ANOTHER undefeated(!) fighter.

I'm talking about the 3lbs Floyd failed to make with the catch-weight.

JMM and Floyd being two different sizes in GENERAL? Yes, to a degree, a rather small degree it definitely played a factor. But main culprit in that fight was a counter puncher who lives off of aggression vs a faster more well rounded counter puncher.

JMM was forced to play the aggressor in that fight. Not his cup of piss.

It hasnt been amazing, but its been solid and has been done in a shorter period of time, still, if you think fighting 4 times in 5 years is a solid effort then good for you. I think its crap.

Now? if this site is anything to go by you're be in the clear minority amongst Mayweather fans.

Anyhow, what Marquez did was jump two divisions to fight the pfp #1 in his first fight above 135lbs and some people would have you believe that had no effect at all on the fight. lol sure, some fighters find it hard to move up one division but Marquez is judged on his ability to jump two at his first attempt.

Why don't you break down in detail how weight was a factor in this fight?

Ex: Did Mayweather lean on him? Push him around? Explain.

How would it have been any different at another weight? Would Marquez match Mayweather's speed? Defense?

Break it down instead of repeating the same excuse.

no he isn't. most floyd fans want to see a sergio fight. Look, we get it, guys like you and gong want to see floyd lose. thats cool. but just be honest about why you guys think fights with the other fighters at his weight wont be competitive.

Floyd has given up weight to ODH and Cotto and beat them. So if you want him to give up more weight because it gives him a better chance to lose just say so and stop with all the other BS.

                    Anyway, in order of preference:

                    (1) Sign to fight Sergio Martinez.
                    (2) Rematch Marquez at 143lbs
                    (3) Sign to fight Pacquiao in late summer.
                    (4) Fight Austin Trout in May
                    (5) Fight Tim Bradley at a catchweight.

                    (6) Forget Guerrero and Canelo until 2014 or late-2013 at the earliest.
wow just f'n wow....Mayweather should fight at 160, then drop down to 143, the fight at 147, the go back to 54 to fight Trout, then come back down to fight Bradley....please get off your EA Sports video game

No, I dont care whether he wins or loses, I just want to see him fight regularly, stop charging the earth for poor ppv's and fight decent competition. As a boxing fan is that so much to ask of a fighter who proclaims himself to be the best fighter in the world?
