    How about JMM's own view?

When Juan Manuel Marquez moved up to the welterweight division in 2009 to challenge Floyd Mayweather Jr., he claims that he didn't train properly and put on the "wrong kind of weight" and it made him slow, sluggish and the power wasn't there. He weighed in at 142-pounds, but his body and power wasn't as impressive as it appeared for his last two stints at 147.

People need to realise he pulled this guy up two divisions for his first fight at the weight, it makes a difference.

There are no Floyd fans campaigning for him to fight Sergio Martinez at 160lbs and that's only one division up from where he is atm (I'm not saying he should either).

And than you say Floyd's return fights have been crappy. Marquez, which was crap at the time it was fought, doesn't look so bad now after what he's done in his other 2 fights at WW. Mosley, everybody and their brother wanted that fight when it happened, I mean do we need to bump all those threads from Late 2009/Early 2010 again??? Ortiz was the #2 WW, and Cotto was the #1 SWW.

I mean how can you praise fighting Dzinziruk, Barker, Macklin, Chavez, and Murray....than say fighting Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, and Cotto is crap. It's just funny, that's all.

      What a run!!!

I'd love to see Mayweather go to 160 (He'll probably weight in no more than 155) and fight Martinez. Mayweather has said he's willing to "Test the waters at 160" before so why not? Either that or at 154.

I say it almost on a daily basis around here.

Anybody who knows boxing, who knows what they watched... knows weight had ZERO to do with the outcome.

            3 things:

            1. you know floyd didn't use the weight advantage to beat JMM. If you wont admit it I can't make you.

            2. JMM took the fight because it was his largest payday. I mean you are trying hard to play nieve, but we all know floyd doesn't have to move up for a payday. but floyd has shown he will fight larger guys at JMW when its financially viable.

            3. please stop with the floyd is at JMW now stuff. he's a ww who simpy fought a JMW champ. you keep saying he can make 140 and also say hes a JMW. Cmon dude.

As far as rankings go, the overwhelming majority of boxing fans know that rankings are a complete joke and the only people that point to them are defensive Floydiots. As far as Marquez is concerned, no Floyds win doesnt look any different just because Marquez has done well recently. He had never been anywhere near welter at the time and Floyd stiffed him on the CW anyway. He has grown into the weight and got used to it so thats a silly point to make, and Cotto? Yeh, he looked like a killer at LMW...smh....the guy was never the same after Marg and Pac.

Really dumb stuff from you 4C, Your normally a little better than that.
So fighting Dzinziruk, Barker, Macklin, Chavez, and Murray is good??? But Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, and Cotto is s**t??? Good to know....

Sergio fighting those guys would be like Floyd fighting Alvarado, Peterson, Brook, Canelo, and than Maidana or Alexander or something. Can you imagine the s**t he'd get for those fights???
