I don't think it's hard to tell which one is more overrated.
Again, different levels. Overrated is a concept relative to how hard a guy is being hyped against his actual ability ceiling. Wilder is not on Alvarez's level at all in terms of boxing, so the comparison is sort of denigrating to Wilder, and yet, I think it is valid, which is something which--again--in and of itself actually says a lot.

Seems more like a way of dissing Wilder.

I can sort of see your point though. Canelo doesn't really deserve to be mentioned in the same light. Plus he was signed to fight Williams, and the people who keep bringing up the Josesito Lopez fight are pure haters, since they tried to secure a good replacement. That was just unlucky and nothing else.

Wilder has serious power and decent handspeed, but he looks like a KO waiting to happen.

I hope you ******s understand that

          for a Heavyweight 27 years old = 22-23 for a welterweight.

Too many of you watch the lower divisions and have your age confused.
Most heavyweights isn't even prime until 30+.

I hope you, ******, understand that sports are not only about athletic ability, but have much to do with many other factors such as technique, fundamentals, etc. Furthermore, ******, Wilder has shown little in these areas, though few would argue against that he is an excellent athlete with a great physique and very good power. This only can get you so far, and if Wilder doesn't tighten up his game he will not make it that high, ******. The odds of him making it moreover, ******, are not in his favor. But you never know indeed, ******.

He just ko'd his second undefeated fighter in a row in under 4 rounds. 100%KO rating in almost 30 fights...........he doesn't seem that overrated to me.

Look "behind the 'numbers'", dude. Aren't you a boxing fan? I know you are, so this post is below you. I'm just saying, I'm glad to debate the issue, but this post is by far and away considerably too simplistic, and therefore rather inconsiderable.

Is Wilder a reigning defending world champ with at least 5 defenses?? Or did we just see a 6-7 heavyweight flatten another undefeated 6-6 heavyweight??

Solid prospect, being touted cause of his size & seemingly talented traits. I cannot compare that to a red head that beats lightweights for a living while sporting world titles.

Are you seriously trying to say that Alvarez fought Lopez because there was no one else? Has he fought four guys who aren't junior middleweights for his junior middleweight title because he is unlucky as well?

People want to call this kid the best junior middleweight in the world when he isn't fighting junior middleweights. The rest of the division is fighting each other while Alvarez is fighting Matt Hatton and Josesito Lopez.
