I don't think it's hard to tell which one is more overrated.

True enough. Too bad that Wilder is no JCC Jr.

And that alone says a lot.

everyone agrees that Canelo can fight and compete with the best of his division. The Trouts, Mayweather's, Lara's etc
Despite having a belt. Most people don't think he will conquer his weight class.

Wilder is going life & death and getting dropped by 400lbs Mcdonald's Masters. While people say he's the savior of boxing and the HW Division. He's supposed to knock out the Klitschkos
          Grade A post.

And for the record, I'm a guy who always wanted to see Wilder do well, but I can also see the writing on the wall.

As soon as he fights someone with any sort of boxing fundamentals he is going to get KO'd, and his people know it. The shame in it is that you'd expect this sort of thing from the Stacy Goodson s of the boxing world, but GBP, really?

And more overrated than Alvarez? Hell no.
It's a debatable point, but the notion that Wilder may be on a comparable level merely speaks to his relative skill/ability level vs his 'potential' as it is being touted. Alvarez is at a much higher level, thus the comparison says a lot about how much respect the critics have for Wilder's actually ability. And yet, I am thinking that it is an apt enough comparison, which--again--says quite a lot in and of itself.

Wilder's second-to-last fight was against a 39 year old career light heavyweight who hadn't fought in 2 years and had fought only once in 5 years.

Well, he did just fight on the main televised portion of a Showtime undercard...

But I'm sure he was merely the best fighter they could find to fit the bill, right. Not like there are much better fighters who deserved the exposure and the pay. That's basically what hype is all about right there.

By default it's Canelo. No one is really rating Wilder.
