Pacs work rate is enough to beat Sweat Pea, let alone power, speed, stamina, chin etc.

Question. Who would you say is the smarter tactician/ boxer, Whitaker or Marquez?

VERY good question, I'd say Marquez, Pea could sometimes be too busy trying to make his opponent look bad than actually winning the round, the DLH fight is a perfect example. Marquez is always on point, always thinking, he, Mayweather, Hopkins and the Steward version of Wlad are THE most intelligent in ring tacticians I have seen in my life.

both ..the only problem is the more defensive fighters get viewed as the smarter fighter most of the time ..

            the way i see it

            sweetpea defense>>>>>marquez's

            marquez's offense>>>>>sweetpea

            it's all preference imo

I'd have Pacquiao ahead of Flowers on my list.

Flowers was a great fighter though.

Pacquaio's a top 3 Southpaw for me, minimum.

Only behind Whitaker and Hagler on my list.

Have you ever seen George Benton?

Edit: how would you rate Ricardo Lopez as a tactician?

definitely a stand out but there have been so many great fighters and his career is still going. if he beats maynever that would boost his ranking

Like anyone here actually knows enough about the sports history and has seen enough of these old timey fighters to even make a credible list they could defend.
