Pacquiao's combination of power and speed has rarely been matched in any era I have seen, the quickness of foot, combine that with an iron chin, underrated skill and technique.

Floyd again is one of the most gifted athletes that ever laced them up, combine that with phenomenal skill, technique, and one of the best defensive fighters of all time.

Not to mention that both guys are 15 round fighters, they both had incredible stamina and probably would have been better over the longer distance.

You will realise in 10 years when they are both gone. Dumb ass thread.

Who exactly have they demonstrated these "unbelievable talents" against?

Over the hill Miguel Cotto? Well shot Shane Mosley? Average Margarito?

People in NSB are seriously ignorant of the past, when fighters FOUGHT, the best challenges, and racked up 100's of wins.

These chumps fight once or twice a year against AVERAGE opposition and you lot herald them as some of "the greatest talents ever"

Falling hook line and sinker for the kool=aid

Pac is great. How can you say he didnt fight prime guys, when he beat Barrera when barrera was considered one or two in the world, and Morales and stopped Morales when Morales was close to his prime and no one has stoped him before even to now?

Stopping hatton in two, busting up Margarito and Cotto..dominating and steamrolling for 7 years..SRL and duran would be proud if they could do that. They may have done it, but would be proud nonetheless.

ANd Pac is still giving nightmares to anyone he fights, its a long time to be at the top.
As for FLoyd he has great ability but as for his resume and desire to prove it isnt great. So he hasnt the combination of achievements to go with his abilities to put him alongside Pac or duran or SRL.

If he had fought Moseley years ago and Manny 3 years ago his greatness would not be questioned. Personally I think Mayweather is great but IMO there are ???? about the degree of greatness simply because he did not fight the big name guys at the right time.
Mayweather wasn't ducking anyone at sfw/lw. Lets see Ward take on all comers at cruiser at least before comparing. Oh wait, he wouldn't even go up to 170 for Dawson

IMO Yes they both are, especially in their era. It's really hard to compare them with some of the greats in the past coz we really couldn't tell how well they would do against Ali,Hearns, Robinson, Duran, Hagler, etc.. since there's no way we can turn back time and put them in the same ring. We can always assume but still that won't prove anything. But one thing is for sure, in their era they are the ones on top of everyone else. I believe years from now, more people will appreciate the accomplishments they've done and realize that they truly belong with the rest of the atg. This is just my opinion

i'm pretty sure I could fit 20 more in that list above them, and i'm not convinced the only reason they are there is because of fighting in a weak era has flattered them.

I mean seriously, we are living in an era where Miguel Cotto is considered a top 5 p4p fighter, that speaks volumes, he'd be a gatekeeper in most other eras

You're full of ****. Has Cotto ever been ranked top 5 p4p? I'm pretty sure he hasn't, and hasn't been in Ring top 10 for a while
