I agree with my Cuban homies, Rigo dont chooses who he fights, but atleast he should be vocal and fight Agbeko or Darchinyan or for that matter both to get him more exposure
Will Rigondeaux fight Agbeko or Darchinyan next?

He's being moved fast and has been fighting C-B level fighters for basically his entire pro career. That is impressive. HOWEVER, when you compare it to his peers(Donaire, Nishioka, Mares, etc) or his amatuer career, his (pro)resume sucks.
Basically, I'm trying to say, if he would've turned pro earlier in his career his resume would probably be up to par, but he didn't. He should consider beating a couple world class fighters impressively before claiming all the other champions are ducking him. The only world class fighter he's fought was Cordoba, and many people think he lost that fight.
Guillermo needs to fight guys like Agbeko and Darchinyan and beat them impressively before he gets a shot at the Donaire-Nishioka winner, IMO.
Although I agree with your statements in principle, I think you're being too hard on a guy with eleven pro fights. The fact is that none of the top guys want to fight him even now. They sure wouldn't have wanted to fight him earlier. I'm not saying they're necessarily ducking Rigo. The bigger guys all want to fight Donaire while he's still at 122. As I've said before, Guille doesn't have the clout to pick and choose whomever he wants.Comment

Do we really care about corrupt organisations having fighters ranked in the top 10? 99% of this board including die-hard fans didn't know who the hell Mathebula was.
Narvarez was a world champion but only as high as 115.
Vazquez Jr was coming off a savage K.O loss to Arce was he not?
I was actually meant to type Ramos if I put Casey and no, not one was coming off a loss Casey included, unlike Vazquez Jr.
vasquez loss to arce was arguably a result of an early stoppage by wv2 father, but he was beating arce before that....before the narvaez fight , nonito offered a fight with moreno but he got turned down...and nonito was also a 115 fighter at one point..so 3 lbs a big deal?Comment

do we really have to complicate things?..let's say mathebula is a bum like you imply , but he was champion who beat the champion, it was'nt given to him either..from i 've read, he arguably beat caballero too(did'nt see the fight tbh)...so obviously he's better than the guys rigo has been beating...

Oh Cabellero, really? The same Caballero that Corboda destroyed? Oh right
It wasn't an early stoppage and he wasn't beating Arce, early on he may of been ahead slightly.
Yes its a huge deal when you're making a 5ft2 fighter go upto 118, that morning he boasted on Twitter he was weighing what was it, 133lbs? and that was in the morning. The size differential on fight night was crazy.Comment

Joseph just recently called Rigo out. Let's wait and see who Guille fights next before we start drawing conclusions on Agbeko. And let's not get too crazy regarding this match-up, shall we? People don't seem too enthusiastic about the prospect.Comment

Understood.

Being a 32 year old World Champion with so much amateur experience and so little pro experience has put him in a tough spot. While he hasn't shown much in the pro ranks(yet), many consider him the greatest amateur ever. Is an amazing amatuer career + a split decision win over Cordoba and a few wins over b level fighters enough to be a worthy challenger to guys like Nishioka and Donaire... who have accomplished much more in the pro ranks? Some will way yes and some will say no.
I lean towards no. But he's almost there.Comment

i guess we just have to agree to disagree but i thnk there's a reason why arce did'nt want the rematch with wv2 ..
and also, why are we talking about narvaez and not montiel (since both fights were at bw).. and why are we comparing rigo's resume to nonito's?..lol, that **** aint even closeLast edited by danceswithfire; 10-03-2012, 01:58 AM.Comment

I might be too hard on him. He's just in such an awkward position right now.
