I sincerely believe that a fight between Rigo and Donaire won't be interesting. Rigo will easily defeat Donaire. The only thing that makes it interesting is that Donaire has the equalizer. Which is his KO power that we have yet to see at 122. Also, Rigo seemed stunned from 2 good shots from Maroquin.

The only way Donaire beats Rigo is via KO. If Donaire doesnt land that punch, Rigo coasts to an easy UD or a more likely TKO.

Rigo is better than Narvaez in every way and look how easily Narvaez countered Donaire. Hahahah!!! That s(#t was funny.

      Exactly what he says....

Rigondeaux is a great boxer who's just starting his pro career. He has no pull. He's not Donaire, who obviously gets to choose whomever he wants at 122. In fact, while Nonito's in the division, Guille has less choice than ever. The top guys are sitting around waiting for their Donaire lottery ticket to arrive. No one wants to jeopardize that by accepting a fight with the "high risk, little reward" Rigondeaux.

People can criticize Rigo all they want, but this notion that Guillermo can land top fights at will is just silly.

Hope he leaves the prospects alone.... I'm not sure Bruce Trampler thinks Rigo is ready yet though

And why are people feeding the troll TS? He brought up Leo Santa Cruz when he knows GBP and TR ain't gonna make that happen.

No, I never said that. I admit, that post wasn't very clear. What I was trying to say was, because of his late start his professional resume is far behind his peers. Nishioka has been considered the #1 guy at 122 for quite some time. Donaire and Mares have impressively beaten champions and world class fighters multiple times. Guillermo hasn't accomplished nearly as much in the pro ranks because of his late start. And that has put him in a very awkward position. This isn't his fault and I never expected him to be fighting guys like that in his 5th or 6th pro fight. However, I think he should be fighting them right now before getting a shot at Mares-Moreno or Donaire-Nishioka winner.

If that's the case then Rigo better forget about Abner Mares and Anselmo Moreno then. They are also with GBP.

It seems like Bob Arum is doing his career more harm than good. Maybe he should consider changing promoters.

Then why does he keep calling Donaire out if he's just starting his pro career?

Does he feel boxing owes him something because he won gold medals?

What does this have to do with Rigo getting a fight with Nishioka? Your post implied Guillermo has a choice in who his opponents are. He doesn't. The reason why Rigo calls out Donaire is because he's a 32 year-old athlete just starting his pro career. He hasn't much time to make money. Nobody owes him anything, but you can't blame the guy for trying.

It blows my mind that some of you feel that the WBA champion of the world has to prove himself.

Donaire vs Rigo is the fight that most fans are asking for. Because of this, Donaire should accept the fight and try to win the 3rd title he wants to be considered "Undisputed".

If I had the opportunity to fight for a world title and it would be my 3rd in the division, I would take it no matter how unproven the champ is. The acclaim that would come with a 3rd title is valued more than beating an unproven fighter. Like Donaire said, "not many people have won 3 titles in 1 division".

It blows my mind that someone thinks having a title = proven in this day and age. Senchenko, NJikam, Canelo, Cleverly, Shumenov etc etc. So surely you had no issue with Donaire fighting former/current titlists WV2, Mathebula? And taking on Mares for the third belt? How about Nishioka, ranked #1 by the Ring, BS, *********.

I had no problem with Donaire fighting WV2 or Mathebula and now Nishioka. All champs.

Proven or unproven, he has a title. One of the important titles and its the fight that fans are calling for. He says he fights for the fans so fight Rigondeaux. Surely if he beats Rigondeaux, the victory won't be discredited and he would have earned his 3rd title.

Donaire disagree's with all of you. He said the only reason he won't fight Rigondeaux is because he is "boring" not because he isn't proven.
