This quote tells you all you need to know about Calzaghe:

He has no particular desire to test himself against the very best, such as WBC*light-heavyweight champ Roy Jones.

Calzaghe added: "I'm not chasing after Roy Jones. Be honest, Roy Jones is a good fighter and I don't want tough fights, I just want big money.

"I just want to make sure I never have to work again. I've got mouths to feed and that's the most important thing."

How anyone can respect a man that calls himself the best and waits until his 43rd fight to FINALLY step up is beyond me.

He's got two really good wins on his resume and that's it, he beat Kessler convincingly but struggled with Hopkins, a lot of people also felt Reid won their fight. RJJ was shot to hell and had been for a couple of years, Joe even acknowledged it.

Lacy was hyped up bad and did absolutely nothing after losing to Joe, Eubank was past his prime, not only that but his 2 previous fights were at 177.

Joe C was his last fight at SMW before moving to 188. Eubank was planning to fight at LHW on the Calzaghe-Collins undercard, Collins retired and Eubank accepted the challenge just 11 days before the fight. He was forced to lose around 10+lbs in just a few days. Calzaghe described this fight as being the toughest of his career lmao.

He did duck Johnson 3 times, i heard an interview with Johnson recently, Joe pulled out the fight like on the week of the fight or something, the day before Johnson was due to catch the flight.

joe fought them after ottke beat them. when ottke fought them they were top guys with belts. mundine has a much better resume than jeff lacy, he beat the number 3 guy in the division. lacy......never came close to that. amazing how you can spin a win over jeff lacy as the greatest thing ever then bash a guy like mundine.

Because he has like 3 good wins, and some of his UK fans talk about him like he's the greatest thing ever.

Joe is a legendary legend-killer and will always be hated by US boxing fans because it's their legends he killed.

            Pay it no mind OP.

He just doesn't have any Great wins. I mean the Hopkins win was controversial and he didn't even want to rematch that. was a good win but has controversy. wouldn't call it a CAREER DEFINING MOMENT where we seen how great he was.
He waited til Jones was old and shot.
ducked Dawson, Froch, and Glen Johnson

Come on this guy isn't nowhere near a legend. He was a good fighter. a B- level fighter at best. He was gifted with bull**** stoppages for half of his title defenses and he and his promoter milked that title for years against at best AVERAGE opponents. Some were not even average.
Somebody cant be a Legend or All time great p4p if his best win is a Split decision where really he was OUTBOXED in the sweet science. I dont see Jones best win a SD over Toney. i Dont see Hopkins best win a SD over Pavlik or Trinidad. Dont see Mayweather best wins a SD over Corrales, Cotto. Dont see Pacquiao best wins a SD over De La hoya, Margarito. Ali best wins aren't SD. No greats BEST WIN is a SD. lol And if they have a SD win like Leonard-Hagler at least they have other wins to prove they were great (hearns, Duran, Benetiz, etc.)
So i just say he's overrated. And if you dont see it then your blind.

pretty sure most people noticed calzaghe fighting bums for ten years and started hating him long before he started his senior citizen tour.

He has wins over Hopkins (questionable win for sure), Kessler (very good win), Lacy (good win at the time), and Bika (a decent/solid win over a Top 10 fighter). Everything else is average at the very best, and that's putting it lightly.
