Joe Calzaghe gets no love on NSB

Not really this is just NSB being bored and bringing up Joke Calzaghe.

When he first retired people tried that GOAT and ATG shyt and no one was having it so periodically like every 3-4 months or so since hes been gone a new Calzaghe thread will pop with hopes that we forgot how average his resume was.

We will never forget that he was mediocre no matter how much people try to go back and change history.

It's hard to defend Joe Calzaghe. I actually like him, he was one of the first 10 fighters I really learned about and followed. I even put my friend on the Calzaghe train back in 2006. His resume just lacks so hard.

The guy is a legend and no matter what your feeling are toward him he proved that in the ring he was a great fighter. The greatest? Not by a long shot but certainly the best 168lbser ever. Why he never gets credit I can only attribute to him being European. I might actually be the only American on nsb that supports him. But after he cemented his great legacy one things for sure he's not coming back at 40 years old just so a young fighter can get a huge name champion on his resume. In fact had he lost a fight I doubt anyone would ever ask for him to come back. Fighters that retire undefeated at the elite level are very rare, on a pedestal almost and people just love to watch them fall.

it took him awhile to overcome his fear of flying. his own promoter said he saw calzaghe flying around europe during his "i'm scared of flying" phase but I guess it's scarier flying to America?

Wrong if it wasn't for his 1 or 2 fan boys everyone would forget who he was. He's very forgettable.

I have never seen a Calzaghe fan boy, just a lot of guys like me who think he was fun as hell to watch. His YouTube stuff gets tons of hits without "fan boys". Frank warren hurts all of his fighters by screwing them out of bigger fights. If anything Joe unlike what his detractors are saying was the victim of frank warren's selfishness and greed.
