We will never forget that he was mediocre no matter how much people try to go back and change history.
haha this is why I don't get down to brass tax about how pathetic he was. Almost everyone already knows.

It's hard to defend Joe Calzaghe. I actually like him, he was one of the first 10 fighters I really learned about and followed. I even put my friend on the Calzaghe train back in 2006. His resume just lacks so hard.

Because his resume is full of crap his fans talk him up to be this great fighter when he's really not.

He beat Hopkins on sd controversially

A old shot ass roy jones hell even his sin was scared for him when he saw prime jones on you tube but then he told him oh he's not that good anymore Gtfo here

His best wins are Kessler and lacy that's it.

He was talented tho and fun to watch but just not anything great.

no you did. warren said the fight would only take place in wales under oath. you said it would be in america but you were wrong as usual. read the court transcripts that i posted many times. was warren lying in court?

actual frank warren court statement- "if that fight had happened, we would have put it on in a place called Cardiff in Wales."

But after he cemented his great legacy one things for sure he's not coming back at 40 years old just so a young fighter can get a huge name champion on his resume. In fact had he lost a fight I doubt anyone would ever ask for him to come back. Fighters that retire undefeated at the elite level are very rare, on a pedestal almost and people just love to watch them fall.
The big problem is he waited until Hopkins and Jones were over the hill to fight them. Then to add insult to injury, you his fans claim those were great wins. You guys are pathetic. Joe was a very good fighter and a legend in Europe, but the greatest 168lbs fighter ever? That is complete BS and laughable at that.

it took him awhile to overcome his fear of flying. his own promoter said he saw calzaghe flying around europe during his "i'm scared of flying" phase but I guess it's scarier flying to America?

I have never seen a Calzaghe fan boy, just a lot of guys like me who think he was fun as hell to watch. His YouTube stuff gets tons of hits without "fan boys". I do see a bunch of frustrated internet guys like you who are hellbent on spewing hate about anyone they don't like. I guys that's how some people like to spend their life.

You gotta respect him, despite never getting the big fights early. I think he would have held his own, it was a different time then and Fish Eyes didn't help the matter as he was the main promoter in England and happy to make easy money and milk his cash cows.

Frank warren hurts all of his fighters by screwing them out of bigger fights. If anything Joe unlike what his detractors are saying was the victim of frank warren's selfishness and greed.
