Bad comparison. A flash knockdown does not compare to being battered with successive punches and almost knocked out. If they want to fight a rematch, then let them. No one will force you to watch. If JCC learns from the loss and pressures Martinez, he could either get caught, or wear down Martinez and stop him. Don't kid yourself into thinking that only one scenario is possible. Anyone who has been around boxing knows A) a one-sided fight can turn around on a dime as already seen, regardless of skills and B) a fighter can learn from a loss and win a rematch.

True, because he could have put himself in greater danger and been caught by the bigger, harder puncher in Chavez and been knocked out.

Almost knocked out? Sergio got up and was throwing punches back exchanging with Chavez. He wasn't holding on for dear life. Anything can happen in the fight but just like Chavez Jr can learn so can Martinez and what would you think would happen if Martinez improved on what he already did to Chavez Jr in the first fight? Chavez Jr catching Martinez had more to to do with Martinez than Chavez Jr. First Williams/Martinez fight was an all out brawl with both hitting the canvas but the rematch had Paul Williams comatose face first on the canvas in the 2nd round. Chavez Jr ain't that good for me to believe he will have success with another punch like that. Martinez weathered his onslaught and was standing when the bell rung. How can Chavez beat a guy with skill to shut him out for 11 rounds to surviving his best barrage? Let the rematch happen but it won't be competitive like the first fight.

I thought the whole point of rematches is when it is competitive lol? Respect to Jr. for staying on his feet and not quitting and getting the knockdown on Sergio but really? He lost 11.5 rounds of a 12 round fight? This is once again, because of who he is, not about how good of a fighter he is. Was anyone clamoring for a Macklin or Barker rematch? When those guys did 3 times as good as Jr. did? NO of course not. The demand for a rematch just proved Sergio's point yet again...he is where he is because of who his father was, period. I am not saying Jr. cant win fights or stay in the game, of course he can. He just will never beat top elite opponents that's all. Maravilla took his face apart lol. Jr. looked like he was beaten with a bat after that fight.

Martinez fans are scared ****less that He almost got GTFO in the last round. I think some people saw just how vulnerable Martinez is, he is no ****en god, he can get KTFO and if they do have a rematch, who are we to say that Chavez goes in more confident and ends the fight early. Crazier things have happened in boxing.

Martinez is not getting younger and JCC can learn and apply himself. No one can deny that JCC can do damage and he knows he can hurt Martinez and if he starts earlier he could get caught, or wear down Martinez and stop him. The rematch will be more competative and could end in a KO either way.

Ha ha ha ha! This is hilarious! Martinez beat the crap out of Chavez Jr for over 11 rounds and got up from the best punches Chavez threw and connected with in the whole fight and swinging back and finished the fight on his feet like a true champion and Martinez fans are supposed to be scared of a rematch? Ha ha ha! If it wasn't for that punch then Chavez Jr would have got smacked by his pops for looking so pitiful.

Chavez Jr will not get better because he does not have the discipline and dedication to get better. Martinez was tired and wounded when he got caught by Chavez Jr and he still got up and went out like a trooper. Chavez Jr only had a punchers chance and Martinez took it away from him. Martinez has Chavez Jr's number and no matter how much Chavez Jr will try to improve, Sergio will for sure improve and dominate regardless.
