All the last round accomplished was to give Junior and his fans the false hope that he is actually an elite fighter.

I agree but keep it away from Texas at the Cowboy's stadium that was mentioned. That's a set up for Martinez.

Well one thing everyone overlooked is that Chavez has been demonstrably getting better with each fight. Martinez is a special fighter for these days, so Chavez was beaten. He may not win but should do better in the return, as Martinez doesn't seem to be able to hurt him.

Sorry but how the hell can anyone root for Chavez. Everything Martinez said about Chavez before the fight is true. The WBC set it up for Chavez to get his phony title and watching 24/7 you can see he doesn't even care about the sport. How the hell does he think he can be a legitimate champ if he trains in his damn livingroom and skips training sessions. The thing is maybe Chavez can become very good but no one will ever know because he's a lazy ass.

What a laughable article. Sergio DOMINATES 11 and a half rounds of the fight. Just clowns and outclasses Junior however he wants, whenever he wants. HE chooses to try and close the show in the 12th while injured. HE sat down and traded more with a fighter outweighing him by probably 20lbs when he could have easily just continued to box Junior's ears off. HE could have held and made it to the finish without taking many more shots. HE can easily decide to outbox Chavez for 50 rounds in a row if he chooses. Chavez got thrown a bone and couldnt close the show. Aint nobody paying for that **** again.

What I meant by "slow him down" was that Sergio dedicated a lot of time on breaking Jr's body down. Throwing to the body makes a fighter vulnerable to getting countered, more-so than if he threw to the head. He would blind Chavez with the jab and then throw the straight left to the bread-basket. Had Sergio thrown to the head more instead of the body, maybe...just maybe he could've stopped Chavez on cuts.

This. Plus, Sergio was admittedly fatigued after that 11th round. He still managed to get up and fight the rest.

As in better do you mean like actually winning one round without a knock down? And as far as Junior looking better dosen't that have a lot to do with who he has fought?

His best opponent before Sergio was Zbik. And many thought that Junior actually lost that fight to include myself. I will not include Manfredo for obvious reasons. As far as Rubio is concerned he cannot beat anything closely resembling an elite top 10 fighter. And he was only back in the ranking for beating the very untested and over hyped David Lemieux.

And Lee may have some skills but he has never fought and beaten any ranked or elite fighters and he got his clock cleaned by a fringe contender club fighter type in Vera. What I am saying is that I believe he fought opponents that are pretty easy to look good against.

And what is amazing is that Chavez was suppose to have all this potential and Barker and Macklin actually did much better against Sergio. And if Junior is going to get so much credit for winning one round against Sergio than Pavlik should be a sure fire Hall of Famer for winning four or five rounds in their fight.

                      Pavlik/Chavez Jr, make it happen.
