Come on man. Get out of here with your rhetoric. Chavez Jr ain't even supposed to be at Middle Weight first of all with his big ass. 2nd, dude was training in his living room and setting his own schedule. Kid wasn't even listening to Freddie Roach in the corner and the only thing he says after getting out classed by Martinez is that he can beat him because he almost knocked him out? Dude looked like someone hit him in the face with a bag a rocks. He is too set in his ways to change from what I'm seeing. Maybe I'm wrong but over all he ain't going to get that good to where he can beat Sergio Martinez in a rematch. Martinez is 37 and fought like a 26 year old. Get out of here with the b.s.

He isn't completely wrong when he made that comment because other than the fact that Martinez is just more naturally skilled, Chavez training at home and skipping sessions proves that he just doesn't take this boxing seriously. Chavez was the champ so he should know how to cut off a ring and know what a jab is.

And if a loss makes him serious and motivated on top of making adjustments and learning from a loss, that is even more reason to understand that he can do better in a rematch.

So lets see, he didn't train right, wasn't motivated, didn't follow the plan and still almost knocked out Martinez? And no one is dumb enough to think JCC did not have Martinez badly hurt and ready to go. Going by the bad training habits, not following instructions, skipping training - that just proves that if he corrected that and applied himself, he could have done better and can in the rematch.

Almost knock him out? No he knocked him down then had over a minute to knock him out and couldnt. Martinez wasnt running or holding he was punching back so he was right in front of him. Jr just couldnt cause jr is not that good. Beat some legit MW and get in line to face the real champ

Its more than simple adjustments. Chavez was the champ so going into the fight he was suppose to know how to cut off the ring already and he damn sure should already know how to jab. Chavez had his moments only because Martinez allowed it. To beat Martinez Chavez will have to learn how to actually box. And this crap about how Chavez will let his hands go the next time is BS. Chavez is flatfooted and can only throw his big shots when his target is not moving. Also, the reason why he didn't let his hands go is because he got countered everytime he threw. The sad part is Martinez gave him opportunities on purpose. More than once Martinez stood infront of him and traded but Chavez just didn't know what to do.

Wrong. Martinez was BADLY HURT and barely got up. He was lucky that wasn't the 10th or even the 11th round cause he would have been stopped. Thats why it is called almost being knocked out. Badly hurt means almost being knocked out.

Not correct. JCC came out with guns blazing only 1 round in the fight and guess what happened? He almost stopped Martinez. Martinez was being hammered by what JCC was doing for the first time in the fight, turning up the heat.

                  • It's all up to JCC. If he gets motivated by the loss, trains and conditions himself much better and learns his mistakes, he can either win the rematch or make it much closer. To deny that possibility is ignorant, just as it is to say that Martinez couldn't stop JCC. JCC could wear down Martinez with much more pressure or get caught trying to put that kind of pressure on. Many scenarios could play out.

                    • Pavlik gave Martinez a much harder fight and also knocked him down...should Pavlik get a rematch?

Bute /Andrade ended with controversy...Bute WAS KO'd and WAS NOT going to make the count the ref stopped counting to argue with Andrade giving Bute enough time to collect himself while the clock ran out.

There was no controversy with Martinez/JR...Martinez got up and fought Jr till the round ended with Jr being unable to do much about it. It showed that Martinez had to much heart for Jr. Saying he deserves a rematch is like saying Margarito deserves a rematch against Pac for having hurt him in 1 round and winning that round even though he was useless against Pac during the rest of the fight.
