So hypothetically, if Martinez decides to fight Golovkin/Geale instead of Chavez, would you object to it? You just called them dangerous, do you think Martinez/Geale or Martinez/Golovkin would be more competitive than Martinez/Chavez 2? Do you think that Chavez would have tougher fights against Geale and Golovkin than he would against Sergio?

sergio is too old to be rematching everyone who catches him with a punch. he needs to clear the division out if he wants any chance of retiring as a potential hall of famer. that means beating geale, golovkin and the quillin-n'jikam winner, which is no mean feat for a 37 year old.

Serg doesn't have a questionable chin...He got hit w/ a good shot at the right time. It's a fight. & this is why the rematch will happen. Bc that half a rd injected sudden drama in an already drama-filled grudge match. Each man has more incentive to prove detractors wrong & look at it as unfinished business. Just like pac & marquez. & I have no doubt the promotors will cheat martinez just to make a trillogy in the return bout. ESPECIALLY in cowboys stadium. It is wut it is...Maybe serge will make an added adjustment & knock this kid out. I doubt it tho. I don''t think at this stage julio can be ko'd. He's too big & has an iron chin....just a tough guy. Some guys u just can't knock out.
Same thing they used to say about Antonio Margarito and Paul Williams. After all of that accumulative damage Chavez Jr took from Martinez I would not be surprised if it had some kind of effect on him. Sergio hits hard and even broke his hand on dudes face/head. I think in a rematch Sergio gets him out of there. Martinez is a analytical fighter and he would find a way to improve on his last performance. Chavez doesn't stand a chance. Martinez was already exhausted, hurt up and he still fought to the end of the bell and ended the fight on his feet without clinching. Lets face it man..... Sergio Martinez is just on a whole other level from Chavez Jr. I'm sure Martinez will do it because his adviser will tell him to for the money but he really doesn't need to. Roach almost stopped the fight, in the rematch it gets stopped.

I think the reality of the situation is Martinez wont be available for an immediate rematch and Chavez will need to fight someone else in the interim. He can definitely take on Pirog,Macklin, Geale etc..that should get him another solid fight in preparation for a rematch with Martinez. Does Chavez deserve the rematch, maybe not since Martinez thoroughly beat him in my opinion. Whatever Chavez did in the last round was great, but coulda, shoulda and didnt KO Martinez. Martinez is looking for the cash cow and I think he just found it..at this point who cares if Mayweather/Manny dont want to fight him. This will generate him some decent $$$

But he also has potentially Cotto and Canelo who are also cash cows and didnt get soundly beat by martinez. Chavez needs to improve his game but i never thought he was that good and i still dont. Beat some big boys in this division and get back in line cause the real champ just proved Jr was garbage

I truly and honestly believe that Sergio Martinez beats Floyd at 154 definitely 160 and he would absolutely murder Manny Pacquiao. Manny won't even fight Cotto at 154 so for sure he ain't fighting Sergio Martinez at 154. He didn't even want it at 150. I know Sergio really wants Floyd but in reality Mayweather at this stage in his career would struggle with Martinez. Sergio has everything Mayweather has except the impregnable defense and Floyd is probably a lil more accurate with his counter punching but Martinez is fast, south paw, has KD, KO power and can adjust during mid fight. Floyd don't have enough power to keep Sergio modest. Would be a chest match but I give the edge to Martinez. Floyd should stay at 147. Martinez should try to get Canelo or do a lil cleaning at 160 and go down as a certified great.

I am not sure Cotto or Canelo are willing to fight at 160 though, they are solid 154lbers. Although I would love to see a Canelo vs Cotto fight now!

I would think if anything Martinez deserves a fight with Mayweather next! You are right money wise I think Canelo might be a great $$$$ fight for Martinez.

#10 of "The 10 Count" is a good example of a tasteless comment made by somebody who thinks it's funny.

I may have agreed with you if say it was like Bute who was definitely out on his feet at the end of the round. And if Sergio was hanging on for dear life at the end. But, that is not what happened and Sergio was even trading with him so Junior had amble opportunity to stop him and could not pull it off.

And the fight was actually rather boring in my opinion. With every round repeating the last one with an inexperienced overrated over hyped B level fighter getting easily exposed for what he really is. I will also say it again in my opinion the only reason there should have been a rematch is if Junior had actually stopped Sergio after getting his a$$ handed to him for 11-1/2 rounds. But as the saying goes the only thing close that counts is with horse shoes and hand grenades. So, in my opinion Sergio doesn't owe Junior squat.

You guys? Trying so hard? He damn near finished Serg dun. I think either guy gets the ko in the rematch because Jr won't wait for Serg to tire. Serg could also plant more and do more damage. I want to see it again.
