Like i have been saying he would have beaten chad at any weight, he makes you quit - dawson was beaten by the 7th, did yall see him in the corner? skully couldn't believe it. I agree with everything you said except this part. I think Dawson was mentally defeated after the fourth round in which he absorbed the second knockdown. After the fourth round, Dawson landed an average of three punches per round and barely threw 20 per round. He basically gave up, just like he did in the Pascal fight. Once you are mentally defeated, you have no chance physically, regardless of how strong or powerful you may be.

Dawson didn't use the weight as an excuse tonight. However, I would bet everything that I own that by the end of next week, he will claiming he lost because he was weight drained. The truth is Ward would have beaten Dawson at any weight.

No lunatic here. I think Pacquiao is severely over rated historically. Ive argued constantly that hes had a well guided career with alot of smoke and mirrors. As a matter of fact i believe both marquez and morales were better in their prime. But if you look at his career after he became world champion hes lost 1 clear fight against erik morales. Now i believe he lost the first and third fights with Jmm and the second was a tossup. I also believe that the Bradley fight was a close fight but pac deserved the win. Im no pac fandeserved but u cant ignore the mans career. He beat the crap out of a very close to prime Barrera and destroyed Miguel Cotto . Those to me are his best fights even Cotto slightly drained. Dont worry he will fall off soon Marquez, Bradley or Floyd make him look silly again and he probably goes away.

Let's not forget that Ward won Olympic gold at the 178lb amateur light heavyweight limit. It really made no sense for this fight not to be at 175. But whatever. Dawson said he would make 168, did, and probably cost himself any legitimate chance of winning the fight because of it.

At the end of the day Chad did call Ward out, but I still need to see Ward at 175 before even considering the 4th spot on a p4p list. He's a great fighter but yes to be p4p you must test the waters...move up or down.. all the ATG's have.. I'm sure he will though there's no where else to go atp...

I pretty much have it the same although I don't like heavyweights so I wouldn't have the Klits but they probably do belong there after dominating the game for so long. Would love to see Floyd vs Matthysse & Martinez vs Golovkin. Bradley vs Marquez & Ward vs Dirrell.

You would have a great point, "IF" Dawson hadn't faced punchers like Tarver, Diaconu, Adamek or Johnson and withstood them. Ward isn't a puncher, he's really not all that accurate. He has really good timing and he interrupts his opponents rhythm, but he's not lightning fast. Dirrell is probably the fastest SMW right now. Dawson is known for a high work rate, dude didn't have the strength to really throw any punches. Plus his punch resistance was horrible in this fight. If you wanna see a fight similar, take a peep at Chris Byrd vs Shaun George and see the affects of a boxer coming down in weight. Doesn't matter how you feel "before" you get in the ring, what matters is how you feel when you're actually in it. Byrd fought at Heavyweight and couldn't take the punches of a light heavy who wasn't a known puncher. Same as Dawson who wasn't able to take punches from Ward who isn't known as a puncher.

Excellent points. I would have picked Ward to win if they fought at 175. But I would have bet anything it would have been an 8-4 type decision where he simply outhustled Dawson. The mere fact the Dawson lost mostly because he couldn't deal with Ward's power points to weight issues. Light heavyweights with solid chins generally are able to handle light hitting super middleweight's pop.

LOL Chad was mentally beatin going into this fight at the weigh in. I kept pointing it out yesterday. It was easy to see that Chad was unsure of himself and how he'd perform at 68. He was so dry he couldn't even utter a word back at Ward during the face off...
