True. Chad gave Ward his due though. No excuses.. but I honestly think Chad was just going after the money from the beginning, he knew he wasn't going to beat Ward at 168 all along.. he didn't care. He stopped the fight himself then claimed he wasn't going to hang his head on the lost he'll just go back to 175 and dominate.. Economics 101..You may be right. I didn't see the weigh in. However, if Dawson was having difficulty making the weight and didn't feel like he could compete because of the weight drain, he should have called the fight off in advance. I hate it when fighters talk trash about how well they feel and how great they are going to perform during the buildup to a fight and then makes excuses about the weight afterwards.Comment

Most people tend to view P4P as a way of determining who would be the best fighter in a weight indifferent world. Accomplishment tends to weigh heavyily when forming my personal list. And while moving up or down in weight certainly helps, it isn't a requirement for a guy to make my list.At the end of the day Chad did call Ward out, but I still need to see Ward at 175 before even considering the 4th spot on a p4p list. He's a great fighter but yes to be p4p you must test the waters...move up or down.. all the ATG's have.. I'm sure he will though there's no where else to go atp...
As for Ward's place on the list, I think a case can be made for him being #1. He cleaned out the super middleweight division. And tonight he totally dismantled and destroyed a fringe P4P guy. Personally, I wouldn't put him ahead of Mayweather simply because Mayweather has been dominent for a heckuva lot longer. That said, Mayweather hasn't fought twice in a year since 2007. So either is fine with me. And if one thinks Pac genuinely beat Bradley and JMM in his last two fights, no one in boxing has a better two wins in their last two fights than that guy. So its very much a toss up. IMO, the only thing that changed tonight is that for the first time in at least five years, someone named Mayweather or Pacquaio has a legitimate claim to the top spot.Comment

Did I say that? I said that HW come in all shapes and sizes. Meaning that the Klit's are p4p because the have no choice but to fight at HW and HW's come in all shapes in sizes already anyway. Ward has choices. He can fight in at least 2 or 3 different weight classes..so until he does he's not p4p top 3 just yetComment

Silly theory, Heavyweight are Heavyweights man. They don't have a choice they came in all shapes and sizes. When you're dealing with middleweights and light HW's they have choices. Ward can fight anywhere from 162-178 Easy! He has a choice. When you have fighters out here racking up titles in 4 or 5 weight classes hats what the definition of p4p is..
Guess your one of the fans that believe Manny's title @ 154 was legit? Although neither him nor Margarito were ranked or worthy of fighting each other for that title,Comment

There is no way the winner of chavez jr. - martinez will go anywhere near andre ward. And andre will move up to 175 before he'd go down to 160.Comment

he won a belt, fought nobody for ten years, then fought a couple good fighters, and moved up. 15 years? that's like saying zsolt erdei or senchenko dominated for years.Comment

Cause you know me huh. Maybe i fought you. after all you had more than 50 straight victories or something like that but to answer your question yes i have boxed and wrestled at a very high level and yes i have had to drop weight, 8 lbs most.
Overall Ward outclassed Dawson and no matter what weight class Dawson will get destroyed just like he did tonight.Comment

What is silly is your logic that only fighters who fight at different weight classes can be ranked in the P4P debate. The P4P ratings were created during the Sugar Ray Robinson era to compare his skills to other fighters fighting at much higher weights. It is a way of comparing fighters who fight in different weight categories. You are right about Ward fighting anywhere from 162 to 178. That doesn't have a damn thing to do with being a top P4P fighter. To say that Ward is not a P4P fighter because he didn't move up to 175 to fight Dawson is as asinine as saying the Klitschkos are not great fighters because there are no heayweights fighting today who are capable of beating them.Silly theory, Heavyweight are Heavyweights man. They don't have a choice they came in all shapes and sizes. When you're dealing with middleweights and light HW's they have choices. Ward can fight anywhere from 162-178 Easy! He has a choice.
