Theres no reason to talk to anyone who thinks that Paulie Mags is going to stand in the ring with the most "complete" fighter ever and actually box with him!! Paulie wouldn't be there for long, and Sugarman on film shows anyone who knows anything about boxing that he was and is the best ever! Ray.

Most complete fighter ever, my d1ck.
No inside game, poor defense, low left hand, lazy jab, the epitome of a head-hunter.
Far from a complete fighter.
Willie Pep did everything Sugar Ray Robinson did only ten times better as did Sandy Saddler, Gene Tunney & the likes.
He was noway near complete.

The most complete fighter ever yet he is getting laced by Jake LaMotta, Randolph Turpin, Henry Brimm, José Basora & the likes lol
I choose the earlier examples so you can't use the typical ''he was passed his prime'' excuse. Let me guess, he wasn't prime then? haha!
Lets face it, he is painfully overrated. He created, Ali perfected his style as Robinson wasn't athletic enough to do so.

Not sure how he can be the best ever when he avoided the best of his time, arguably doesn't even have the greatest achievements & sure as hell would get his ass kicked from pillar to post by many many fighters since.
Best of his time in his respected era - Possibly.
Best ever - No chance.
Willie Pep >>Sugar Ray.
Pep had the moves and is on his ass in terms of greatness (generally viewed as a top 5 guy) but Ray had the moves AND the power

Oh I am a **** poster, tell me what makes you any better? After seeing your previous posts they aren't the most insightful or educated now are they?
So what do you bring to the table other than ''yessssssss'' & about a hundred posts consisting or ''lololol'' & '''hahahahahahaha''?
I don't always go against the grain but unlike most I am able to form my own opinion which is probably why unlike most posters I don't lose hundreds of pounds/dollars week in, week out cluelessly betting & getting an average of 5% of my predictions right.
I'm not denying he was a great boxer for his era but I just am not as high on him as everybody else seemingly is who well, mostly can not even say why they feel he is 'The GOAT' apart from the obvious, everyone else seems to say so so i'll bandwagon it.

Too many factors to take into consideration really.
Willie Pep? Benny Leonard? maybe Henry Armstrong
I just fail to see what Sugar Ray did that puts him head & shoulders above the rest, do you know what I mean?
Could this guy beat the other great fighters head-to-head in his respected weight class?
Carlos Monzon, Marvin Hagler, Harry Greb...
I don't think so but then again I suppose the reply here ''This wasn't Sugarmans prime weight class''
Well the way people go on, you'd of thought he'd beat every middleweight in history on the same night.Last edited by dan_cov; 08-29-2012, 03:24 PM.

If Pep considered Sugarman the best why would anyone be concerned what you (dan_cov) think!!!
As I've stated before the films are there they don't lie all you need to know is...........BOXING!! Obviously your in need of attention and argueing that the best fighter in boxings history wasn't the best is a good way to get some needed attention. I guess the Klitz Bros are both more accomplished than Joe Louis also?Ray.
