That's perfectly fair, as long as Escobedo's team made the proposal.
If Broner's lazy azz didn't ruin all these, this won't all be a problem in the first place.

It's irrelevant whoever proposed the new scheme.

Even if he accepts, he might come in over just drinking water and eating lightly so the drama will continue until tomorrow at noon..

          Sheesh.

he'll have to take his punishments (like rios or any other fighter) & move up.

            whats done is done...........
Yes, and I wouldn't mind about a max weight limit for tomorrow's afternoon. If they agree a specific weight to be made tomorrow at let's say 5 or 6 PM then that's fine, what I wouldn't like to see is a super blown up Broner with a massive weight advantage because he didn't make an effort to make the 130 limit.

I really hope the fight still happens, as I was getting excited about it, but that's a complete lack of respect for the sport to miss weight that bad and make no attempt to lose any of it.

If he doesn't accept the max weight then it's a big let down.

Doesn't bother to make weight and then not accepting a max is complete BS. He said it would be an easy fight, stop looking for extra advantages then.

By looking at the video, Broner came down as low in weight as he possibly could, he looks utterly ripped to the bone. Do people seriously think he did this on purpose? Also, losing 3.5lbs in that short amount of time could seriously hurt you. Not to mention, why wasn't everyone as up in arms as they are now when Rios came in overweight BACK TO BACK, and Morales came in overweight and ADMITTED he did it intentionally. Everyone made excuses for Rios.

I love the double standards on this forum. I'm not trying to defend a mistake made by Broner, but people are just hilarious on this forum. Not to mention, Escobedo has been a big lightweight the vast majority of his career up until his last three fights where he's been campaigning at 130, so it's not like he's going much smaller then Broner. 3.5 lbs won't make much of a difference at all, and Broner's been saying this is his last fight at 130.

That being said, if he had problems making the weight his team should have spoke up unless they didn't weigh him beforehand. Either way, on fight night they should be re-hydrated to a roughly equal weight because Escobedo is a big guy himself for this weight. This fight should have been made at lightweight to begin with, I think both guys would of probably been more comfortable, but now we have this unfortunate situation.

Doesn't make it right, I know; but if this fight is going to be saved, it has to be on Escobedo's terms. It's a bad situation, but there's too much at stake to let the show fall through without some reasonable efforts being made.
