That's probably the best that can be hoped for (and one of the reasons why I think this fight will go through). Escobedo's camp should demand that Broner not weigh any more than 135 (or, say, whatever Vicente plans to weigh) tomorrow. It's a very reasonable demand, and Escobedo wouldn't be at a weight disadvantage.his title is gone..........you can't lose 3 pounds in such a short amount of time, you will hurt yourself (should have come in at the proper weight from the start) but whats done is done. he'll lose his title & their negotiating A max weight right now..........all he can do @ this point is put on a good show. & move up.Comment

wait.............boxing has penalties & punishments for those who doesn't make weight. (max weight, stripped title, & cash penalty) escobedo has fought as high as 140. actually escobedo is a natural 135'er he's not a small guy...........broner will not shed 3 pounds because it will risk his body.Because this is a fight between 2 guys, now just about Broner. Yeah, Broner can be lazy and just care for himself, but he's going to get a completely unfair advantage against a guy who actually trained and made a diet in order to make the weight limit.
People can get hurt because of crap like this, a guy who's one or two divisions above could seriously hurt a smaller guy. There's a reason boxing is divided in weight classes.
he'll have to take his punishments (like rios or any other fighter) & move up.
whats done is done...........Last edited by americanbot; 07-20-2012, 02:59 PM.Comment
