A 140 lb fight-day limit is very reasonable, in my opinion. The ball is in Broner's court. Adrien would be declining a second chance to make good on his commitment if he refuses to the terms. Not making weight is bad enough, but snubbing a chance to make it all better could (and should) hurt his career. I think he'll accept. If he doesn't, he and his advisors are truly ******.

yah guy acts like a clown..he has the skills to be a good fighter, but he needs to mature and focus himself.Comment

What's wrong is that Escobedo purposely moved down to fight for the WBO belt at 130.
Now he may get screwed over.
That's the issue here.Comment

i dont expect much from boxing...from all the weird and corrupt **** that happens..but what i DO EXPECT is for these ****ers to at least honor the weight...get as big as they want after the weigh in, i dont give a **** but at least show that you're professional enough to at least make the weight..
some fighters come in half pound, maybe a pound over and its disappointing...THIS assh0le comes in almost FOUR ****ING POUNDS over and didnt even bother tryin to trim...Eaner said for him to at least get down to 131.5, dude didn't even botherComment

fair point and he should be held accountable.
But if he was a humble guy and didn't self promote, no one would be watching him on HBO and, as such, there wouldn't be 200 posts in an hour about him because we wouldn't really care about this fight.
He definitely should have tried to lose the weight as a competitor. As a "star attraction" well, thats another discussion. Ultimately he is hurting his image with both boxing and casual fans.Comment

can you read?Originally posted by PrimeraCan you read at all? He had MANY other comments about Mexicans, I said that Broner fans ONLY acknowledge the burrito eater comment, because they're too ****** and naive to admit the other stuff he said.
post the other comments that you're referring to.Last edited by americanbot; 07-20-2012, 03:17 PM.Comment

There goes any chance of me being a fan. What a punk. You could at least try and make some concessions. Utter lack of respect for the sport he makes money at.Comment

Trouble is, the network would probably not look too favorably on Escobedo if he didn't make some extra effort to make this fight happen. It's in everyone's interest that "the show go on." If Broner rejects a reasonable offer by Vicente's team, he'll shoulder all the blame.Comment
