you're kidding right?By looking at the video, Broner came down as low in weight as he possibly could, he looks utterly ripped to the bone. Do people seriously think he did this on purpose? Also, losing 3.5lbs in that short amount of time could seriously hurt you. Not to mention, why wasn't everyone as up in arms as they are now when Rios came in overweight BACK TO BACK, and Morales came in overweight and ADMITTED he did it intentionally. Everyone made excuses for Rios.
this forum was howling with displeasure stop
it's not the weight but the attempt to make it that's the issue at handI love the double standards on this forum. I'm not trying to defend a mistake made by Broner, but people are just hilarious on this forum. Not to mention, Escobedo has been a big lightweight the vast majority of his career up until his last three fights where he's been campaigning at 130, so it's not like he's going much smaller then Broner. 3.5 lbs won't make much of a difference at all, and Broner's been saying this is his last fight at 130.
Broner is making no attempts at all to make 130
actually escobedo has said several times on my radio show and in interviews with him that he felt 135 was too big for him and that 130 feels more like himThat being said, if he had problems making the weight his team should have spoke up unless they didn't weigh him beforehand. Either way, on fight night they should be re-hydrated to a roughly equal weight because Escobedo is a big guy himself for this weight. This fight should have been made at lightweight to begin with, I think both guys would of probably been more comfortable, but now we have this unfortunate situation.Comment

dude, the burrito comment didn't sound racist (i just saw it now)..........it's just like khan posting a picture of black people eating fried chicken. it's a joke.........Originally posted by PrimeraAgain, another Broner fan ONLY acknowledging the burrito eating comment, but will not acknowledge the various other racial related comments Broner made about Mexicans.
I was wondering where "broner is racist" originally came from?
you mean to tell me, thats why you thought he was racist
what other comments did he say about mexicans? if thats the only thing that you got then i would declare you a weirdo.Comment

We should shun him the same way everyone did Joan Guzman not even trying to cut the weight, its one fcking thing to not be able to make the weight its a whole different story to not even fcking try i hope Escobedo knocks this **** bum out.Comment

What do you expect?
Broner carries himself as a pr*ck and said in the last few weeks that he can 'eat whatever he wants and still make the weight' - then he misses the weight limit by 3.5lbs and doesn't even try to get down.Comment

If you are Broner, what would you do?Comment

I agree, I think it was just a poor decision for Broner and his management, it was a mistake. You can tell by looking at Broner that he couldn't come down anymore without hurting himself, I mean he's literally shredded and ripped to the bone. ****** mistake, and unfortunate situation. The thing here is that Escobedo actually made an effort to make weight, he had to drink very little water and eat very little for the past week, so that actually is going to affect his performance on fight night. So even if they're both around the same size (which I don't think they would, I still think Broner would be even bigger) Broner would still have an advantage.
The main problem here is not that Broner is at his minimum weight, but that he signed a 130 fight when he couldn't make that weight anymore. You can't make 130? Then just don't fight at 130, period.Comment

Yeah but Escobedo wanted the title fairly. That is at the JLW.
I bet these guys from Team Broner didn't expect this to happen in the 1st place. How in the heck would they anticipate such and not propose this before all the negotiations started?Comment
