It's a shame a fighter as talented as Lara has to beg for fights like this against an opponent that he is better than.
As a matter of fact, I will refuse to watch the Canelo fight unless it's Lara, Molina or Trout. Canelo is a good fighter but De La Hoya needs to let go of his hand and let him step and prove that he is a real champion for once.Comment

It's not DLH...It's a shame a fighter as talented as Lara has to beg for fights like this against an opponent that he is better than.

Shaefer even said that it's up to Canelo on who he fights next, not them.Comment

BS..If you don't know who Lara is than you don't know who Paul Williams is. If you don't know who Paul Williams is than your likely not a person that's going to spend $65 to watch a boxing match that doesn't include Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. You guys are seriously overrating Lara, the only reason everyone is "avoding" him is because no one outside of hardcore boxing fans know who the hell he is. It would be financially ****** as hell to fight him, boxing is all about the money. He's in the same spot Rigo is,both need to beat decent name opponents before calling out the big dogs. The only Cuban that has earned this right is Gamboa.
And on top of that, your telling me that non-hardcore boxing fans know who Austin Trout and Carlos Quintana are? Give me a break.
No excuses. Canelo should be fighting Erislandy Lara. No ifs ands or buts about it.Comment

I think Canelo gives them suggestions but they aren't letting a 21 year old kid dictate his career. Canelo wanted to fight Floyd but Oscar said he wasn't ready yet.Comment

True, that's what Oscar said. That doesn't mean Oscar wasn't trying to make the fight and hasn't been trying to make the fight.
IMO, it's Floyd that's been turning the fight down because he won't gain anything for beating him.
I remember a few years ago when Mayweather was making his comeback, he was suggesting he might face Canelo then. This was about 3 years ago. Floyd could've made the fight then if he wanted, but he didn't.
It's Floyd saying no, not Oscar.Comment
