You don't need heavy weights to build the type of athleticism needed to generate power from the legs.

Power lifting is for just that: lifting

Calisthenics and other non-weight exercises are fine for boxing.

James Kirkland is a weightlifter and it shows. It hasn't added to his power. Only to his strength. There's a big difference.

That's why Kirkland basically only arm punches.

Punching is a compound movement. The force is generated from the floor and is transferred up the body from the legs, through the core, through the upper body and then through the fist.

Compound lifts like deadlifts, squats, clean and press, etc. are perfect for boxing because they strengthen all the muscles involved in a punching movement. Assuming Khan is doing a weight that he can rep, keep good form, and explode through every rep a dead lift is one of the best lifting exercises a boxer can do.

See, one of u guys says power comes from ur abs, and core, someone else says it comes from ur legs, all of these ways to COMPLICATE power....No one is using common sense, just complex theories...its common sense, building ur STRENGTH, will increase ur STRENTH...Key word is STRENGTH...Strength=power, get it?...Guys not lifting weights, and getting weaker...they lifting them, and getting power, strength

Stance is way to wide, leaning on his toes too much and like jaded said his grip is wrong, he's not deadlifting anything there, just holding the bar.

it does though, aslong as you dont do so much that it ruins your technique, strenght is as important in punching power as percision and timing, if not, more
