I'm not a huge fan of lifting for Boxers, (as long as it's kept to a minimum)

But deadlifts is a compound lifting exercise that works the hams, quads and torso, I don't see how deadlifts wouldn't benefit in increasing power
Exercise such as squats and dead lifts are regarded as "Power lifting" They are pure Core exercises to build strength.

This is completely wrong on all points. Punching power has nothing to do with how much weight you can curl, bench, press or otherwise lift.

There are plenty of weightlifters who can lift massive amounts of weight who couldn't hurt you with a clean shot, and plenty of scrawny guys who couldn't lift their own bodyweight who can KO a rhinoceros.

A deadlift strengthens the lower back... Power comes from the abs and core area, so he might be gain some power here, but than again... Look at Bradley

I think power cleans would be a better workout. Focuses more on explosiveness. That and box jumps to me are more to condusive to boxing.

Dead lifts and lunges always killed my lower back. Just don't feel safe. Even with great technique.

Heh, what a surprise coming from Freddie!

All this nonsense from Khan following the Peterson fight has been highly obnoxious and I'm not sure I love or hate him, but I am more than happy to adopt him against Garcia; **** that guy, I hope Khan murders him.
