I think Froch has surpassed Calzaghe especially after his KO win over Bute, Froch has fought the best out there while Calzaghe boxed bums for years and years

Froch has the better level of competition on his resume. The only thing i would say in favour of Calzaghe is that the 168 division has had a bit of a rejuvenation in recent times and has a lot of top class fighters that all want to fight each other. Calzaghe didn't have the opportunity to participate in a Super Six tournament or anything like that the division was a bit dead when he was in his prime so his resume is always going to look padded in comparison.

I have no doubt in my mind that Calzaghe would be competitive in this era of Super Middleweights though. He might have had problems with the faster ones like Ward and Dirrell but no doubt he would beat fighters like Bute and Abraham. He's already beaten a better version of Kessler and around the time that it looked like he and Froch were going to fight i thought Calzaghe would beat Froch.

But yeah overall Froch already has a better resume. In terms of legacy, i think Froch isn't far off he just has to rematch and beat Kessler before we can say he was a greater fighter than Calzaghe.

carl froch beat 1 SMW CHAMPION and beat 1 former smw champion

carl froch lost to 1 smw champion and lost too 1 former smw champion

          Jermain Taylor
          Jean Pascal
          Andre Dirrell
          Arthur Abraham
Glen Johnson are all BUM'S contenders at best they never won a title at 168 so how can they be class as top wins

people hype on about froch fighting away from home

          taylor was shot

abraham was coming off a loss

          johnson was 43 with 14 L L L L L L L L L L L L L L

KESSLER WAS COMING OFF A LOSS

CARL FROCH FOUGHT THE BEST BUT HE NEVER BEAT THEM......WARD/KESSLER

All froch has done is won joe calzaghe vacant title made two defence loss to mikkel kessler...won kessler vacant title made 2 defence and loss to andre ward then won a paper title that will soon be mikkel kessler's

So eubank is an ATG in your eyes? Listen Calzaghe beat an old Eubanks who was on the downslide. Hopkins was 43 years old, and won the fight in my opinion, and Roy Jones is the guy who is getting knocked out by bums in Russia every other month now who had no business fighting Calzaghe or any top fighter at that point of his career. You should be either drug tested for your post or banned.

Calzaghe could have shut froch up and beaten him, but he chose not to. The way I see it froch has taken way more risks in the past two years than calzaghe has in his career, fighting sheep herders and alcoholic homeless guys in Wales.

Froch has fought the tougher opposition, but only because they were around. I'm sorry but you don't unify a division by ducking people. Prime for prime Calzaghe beats Froch 120-108, A 37 year old Calzaghe against a prime Froch wins quite comfortably too, I'm sorry but Calzaghe was in a different league. The only fight Calzaghe would have struggled with was Ward, but I think he still beats him.

Of course Froch has surpassed Calzaghe. He is a warrior that is willing to fight any and everybody. His resume already s**** all over Calzaghe's, and he is still adding names to it. Calzaghe has no legacy, and it's his own fault for it. His fans need to get over it. They are mad because nobody outside of the UK respects Calzaghe, but Froch is out making skeptics believers.

Ward beats Calzaghe, he has a better boxing IQ and would nullify Calzaghe's punch output

EUBANK WAS 31 if he was old then so was
                    Lucian Bute
                    Arthur Abraham
                    jermain taylor
                    Mikkel Kessler

calzaghe beat a 43 years old Hopkins who was the best at lhw and at 47 he still was the best a LHW

you don't win the wba. ibf wbo wbc and ring belts at smw an Lhw and reign for 11 years by fighting sheep herders and alcoholic homeless guy and not taking risks
