    No question about that.

he's a lesser threat to his opponents than he was pre-margarito that's for sure.

The fighters Mayweather outclasses are fighters that come forward aka the old Cotto. The new Cotto will take risks but he isn't gonna be stalking Mayweather down. It's going to be a fight that's fought at distance. It obviously favors Mayweather(hes the best pure boxer we've had in a longggg time) but like Mosley shown, Mayweather can be hurt if we're just strictly boxing.
He was on the brink of quitting against Clottey who isn't exactly an activity guy. If Mayweather steps it up like he did against Mosley and starts walking him down expect Miguel to start running with that deer in the headlights look in his eyes. He was even starting to look like that against Tony last fight.

Yea, I see Floyd backing Miguel up and walking him down.

You can't teach an old dog with new tricks. A much improved Cotto will only work on guys like Margarito. The improvement will never show on speed fighters like Mayweather. Cotto would attempt to overpower Floyd, but Floyd will not let him. Cotto will be overwhelmed with speed and be forced to abandon all the so-called improvements and will end up just trying to survive. It is what it is.

In the brink of quitting against Clottey. Funny cause he had a huge gash on his forehead and could had quit when he was ahead on the cards.

I guess Cotto told you that himself

There is no doubt in my mind he is worse now. He was in his prime at age 27 for Margarito and he is 31 now. 31 is a bit pass prime as a rule.He suffered two brutal beat downs. Then he looked very average against Foreman and Mayorga. He looked pretty good in the Margarito rematch. But Margarito had been softened up by Mosley and Pacquiao and had a bad eye going into the fight and Cotto targeted that eye. He is not a bigger man at age 31 than he was at age 27. 154 lbs. won't help him.

He's a more experienced and smarter fighter. Better? He's ran through his opposition at 154 so far but hasn't been tested. Some boxers feel that moving up improves there power and ability to take a punch. We don't know if that's true for cotto yet. Margarito is his signature win at 154. Time will tell how good of a win that was. But what that win does is improve confidence which is big for any fighter. He only has 1 unavenged loss on his record right now. But all questions will be answered in a week.

No. He has been in many wars and you can clearly see that he doesn't react well getting hit.
