Oh, Jesus.
You are really comparing Jesse James Leija and John John Molina in 1998 and to Oscar in 2007 and Mosley in 2010? Good Lord.
Both Leija and especially Molina were absolutely irrelevant at that time. You do know that, right?
You do know that Leija was stopped by a ancient well passed prime Azumah Nelson 2 years prior, Yes? and a fight before that was stopped by Oscar in 2 rounds?
Molina hadn't won a single relevant fight in YEARS when he fought Shane. His last relevant fight was getting beaten handily by Oscar in 1995.
Molina wasn't in the Top 10 and Leija was re entred into the Top 10 for beating a 40 year old Azumah Nelson.
Mosley was the ****ing Lineal Champion at 147. Top 3 P4P worldwide. And you are comparing him to Leija and Molina in 1998?Jesus Christ. Seriously.
Oscar was in the Top 5 at Jr Mw. Actually had a decent win in recent years.
Again, Molina wasn't even ranked and Leija was newly ranked. Both, washed up completely.
You're genuinely beyond clueless.Comment

So you're saying that Shane's wins over Leija and Molina compare to Mayweather's wins over Oscar and Mosley?
Because if you are, you're a bigger moron that I thought you were.
Molina wasn't in the Top 10, hadn't won a legit fight in years.
Leija's only legit fight in years prior to being stopped in 6 rounds and under consecutively 2 years prior was a 40 year old Azumah Nelson.
Where are you lost?Comment

Oscar was a Top 5 SWW and people actually wanted to see Mayweather-De La Hoya at 154 and you can't knock Floyd for taking the fight that made him a mega star. And Shane had just TKO'd Margarito, was the #1 WW, and was Top 10 P4P after stopping Margarito. Everybody and their brother was saying "Floyd needs to fight Mosley, or just retire. If he beats Shane, he gets full credit for that". Seriously, do we need to bump that thread back from Late 2009/Early 2010 where people were screaming for Floyd to fight Mosley???
It's a bad comparison.Comment

They were both title holders.
Mosley was #1 WW and #3 P4P.
Molina was unranked and hadn't won a legit fight in years and Leija had just re-entered from being unranked.
You don't see the huge difference there?
Are you blind or just ******?Comment

And, the longevity dominance of Duran...It was damn near a decade of dominance in that weight is what makes his consideration of being the GOAT at that weight. But, others like B. Leonard, Joe Gans, and like IronDan would point out Carlos Ortiz has just as good of a case if not better of being the GOAT at 135. Even the likes of Whitaker and Armstrong are not too shabby.
Anyways, Duran longevity dominance and wins over Buchanan, Lampkin, Ishimatsu, Viruet, Fernandez, DeJesus, are the reasons why the consideration is made.
The achievement and accomplishments are in now comparable to the likes of Mosley at Moorer at 135 and 175. And, that's taking everything into consideration.Comment

The comparison is still awful. Molina and Leija hadn't done anything in years and NO ONE was calling for Shane to fight them.
Oscar was a Top 5 SWW and people actually wanted to see Mayweather-De La Hoya at 154 and you can't knock Floyd for taking the fight that made him a mega star. It's plain ******ity.
It's damn near ******ation.Comment

He beat a lot of good fighters too, some HOF'ers, some borderline HOF'ers. Mosley and Moorer comparison is a much closer than Duran with either of those guys comparison.
