Prime 147 Shane Vs Prime 147 Floyd

It does get quickly annoying how people claim him to be this unbeatable monster at lightweight. It's just not the truth, he was a damn, good fighter, very, very good, but people love to go overboard with him. I've always been a Shane fan, but sometimes you have to sit back and be realistic.
Shane is a very good fighter, just he had real problems when he ran into boxers better than he, physically or mentally.
I know there are lots of guys that people go overboard on but at least those people are usually talking well known strengths, Mosley for some reason just seems to be some kind of mystery wrapped in an enigma explained with a riddle, when it should all be well known fact about him (at least when talking real boxing fans who know he isn't a slick boxer).Comment

I just know Shane is the guy that has made me throw stuff and scream things at my TV like "Fuck Shane do something, why are you just standing there" and the common theme would be that happened against elite fighters who didn't just let Mosley have his way.

Johnston was right there at 135 beating Mendy, Bazan, Manfredy, and a Mosley fight never happened for him in the late 90's. Stevie could box, I'm not saying he'd beat Mosley, but if Holiday could throw Mosley some problems, I think Johnston could have in his prime.
Castillo didn't really come on until 99-00 with his Johnston and Bazan fights. But damn Mosley-Castillo and Mosley-Johnston would have been great fights.
Mosley-Castillo would have been a classic.Comment

Indeed it would have been. I would give Shane the edge because while JLC is a very underrated technical boxer he wasn't the sort to really make a guy think he wanted to break guys physically and I think that would play into Shane's hands.
I would favor Shane slightly because he is a real tough dude but he never rally tested like that so I could see some liking JLC who thrived in close tough fights.Comment
