And these homeys expect Cotto to apply pressure on Floyd, like they always do. Floyd is always expected to fight a boring fight -- fight defensively, and never go for a kill. His opponent is always the one expected to fight aggressively. He's always expected to get the juicy role of countering and potshotting. The result is always a boring UD.

That's why Floyd was a stylistic nightmare for JMM. Marquez didn't get to fight backwards because Floyd would not come forward. JMM was forced to because otherwise nothing will happen.

This new Cotto will fight smart and is a defense-conscious one. He won't come forward like people fool themselves into believing. He will use his bike and potshot Floyd with his left hook. Mayorga had to tell him to come in because he won't. This Cotto will move a lot.

oh i know u and ur not the type that im referring to in my post. i also think its a legit fight, its hard to argue otherwise, not the fight i wanted, but of course im watching.

Yeah its not Mayweather vs Pacquaio but once u excepted that wasn't happening then Cotto was pretty much the next best fight out there for Mayweather and he has done things right (weight ect).

I thought Cotto did an excellent job with him, dominated the fight and bust him up in the process. Against what is essentially his nightmare style too. Cotto's weakness is pressure (he fights well under pressure IMO but its the weaker part of his game), Floyd Mayweather May bring pressure or he may box on the back foot we will have to wait and see but his style is not nearly as much of a problem for Cotto as Margarito's was. Im not saying Floyd wont win, what im saying is if he does win its because he is the better fighter and not because he's a bad style match up for Cotto...

I'm talking about the first Cotto/Margarito. That was the time around or after Oscar fought Floyd. That version of Cotto with that style he fought Margarito with in the first fight would have gotten him killed at 154 against Oscar. My thing is, if a prime undefeated Cotto could not stop or dominate a 36 year old Mosley who didn't know what round he was in. Then for sure he ain't beating Floyd.
