Theres a reason why floyd retired instead of fighting Cotto in his prime 6+ years ago, he was waiting for Cotto to get shopworn aka KTFO by Marg and Pac

In a fair fight with a ref that takes points away for throwing elbows and shoving off with forearms to the neck, and a neutral venue (not floyds backyard), than Cotto wins this fight EASILY.

A prime Cotto would've Hattoned floyd within 5 rounds.

Sorry! Wrong! Mayweather footwork was to good back then! That was around the time of Gatti, and trust me didnt nobody want to see Floyd around that time! Im not going to lie, Pac is a good fighter, but DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS! and SKILLS PAY THE BILLS! Its proven in every sport! Time and time again! These fights were 10 years ago! What have u done for me lately! At least Floyd fights guys coming off good wins or guys with belts! Mosley had just tko Marg, but he fought him anyway! Clotty was just coming off a loss to Cotto, and he still got a fight with Pac! Cotto just got the dog **** beat out of him by Marg and dint have a trainer for Pac, not to mention all these fights were at catch weights! So once again, lets be real!

That's subjective though, because at the same time people ridicule the ABC structure of Boxing anyway with everyone and their mother having a belt today (I was IBF champ last week). It's the same argument as Floyd fighting Zab after he lost to Baldomir, but says "Well...hes the IBF champ". It seems as if that rule is ok if it's Mayweather, but other fighters are ridiculed. To me, saying Floyd beats guys coming off good wins is subjective considering the actual fights / fighters he's facing or that his opponents have faced.

This isn't also to put Floyd down either because I think he's a great fighter regardless, but...

Again, Floyd has fought tough opponents in his career, but since Oscar and since he made it to the big stage it's been very lack luster.

The same should go for Pac then, cause his resume to Floyd is worse! Is it not?

Well... I have read comments about Cotto being past his prime... I suspect people said that because of his age, but comments like that establish Cotto is the only one who gets old.

I have seeing a better Cotto (fighting better and being more elusive, although hittable) since his lost from Pac / when he changed his trainer. Lets see if he still good enough to beat Mayweather.

I think he has a chance once Pedro establish the tactical part.... something Cotto's arrogance did not allow for Manny fight, even when his father told him so (to get a better trainer).... although the other day he admitted he felt into the trap of believing once you KO some folks, you can do the same to everyone and forget all the tactical part of fights... it is more than delivering power punches.

Even its a very difficult fight for Cotto, I go with Cotto mostly because of Pedro and la sangre boricua!

No, but had floyd been there with that same opposition, he would have dominated them and only would have had to fight them once! Hate to say it, but Floyds style is a mexican killer! Just like Pac! But worse, cause he breaks them down mentally first!
