I think Cotto now is better than Oscar when Floyd fought him.

Oscar got tagged up vs Stevie Forbes. I think Cotto would have put more of a beating on Forbes.

Pedro has his hands full because Mayweather will be fully prepared and will adapt to every strategic move gameplan they come up with

Oscar didn't fight Forbes until after he lost his 154 title to Mayweather...

Hoya vs Forbes was at 147....

          You forgot already..??

You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise..

Shane Mosley had Cotto running.....but he couldn't walk down Floyd..

He walked thru everything Cotto had..but he couldn't walk thru Mayweather's shots.
You're comparison's are a little off base. Oscar had a 5 year campaign @ 154 while Cotto has only been the there just shy of 2 years, hard to compare a body of work with a 3 year difference. But, the Floyd version of Oscar couldn't pull the trigger and at that stage of his career tended to push his punches. For all the washed up, shot or over the hill talk about Cotto he still has the ability to "pull the trigger" and hit with authority.

Shane Mosley was caught by surprise when he fought Cotto and for the first 7 or 8 rounds Cotto walked Shane into power shots consistently. Yes, Miguel did back off and used a survive mentality to win a close fight, but, that was a 3 years younger version of Mosley that Cotto dealt with. Floyd's version of Shane was coming off 16 month layoff in the ring and at 39 I'm sure Shane wasn't exactly fresh.

"Shane couldn't walk down Floyd" is true but he did have Mayweather on ***** street for a moment. If Shane couldn't walk through Mayweather's shots how did he make it to the final bell?

mayweather said on Face Off that he wasn't going to be dancing or moving...he was going to bring it to Cotto. Just like he did he did with Mosley when people said he would run and pot shot. Mayweather will certainly be ready for this fight. He knows that their are people who want him to lose. With every big fight, I've seen his skills eleveant even more and this will be no different. When May gets into that pocket, he can see everything coming. And Floyd's ability to adjust mid fight is even greater. If Cotto calls himself tryto use his body punches, trust me, Floyd will be ready

At 154, the Oscar that fought Floyd KO's Cotto. Cotto couldn't even keep Margarito's pressure at bay.

What's your basis for this? Granted i think cotto is faded, but oscar hadn't been setting the world on fire before the mayweather fight or after it for that matter. In the almost 4 years before that fight, he loked good once--against mayorga--not exactly anything to write home about. Felix sturm beat oscar pretty easily (and not surprisingly lost the decision). Bernard destroyed him at 156. In fact, i thought both sturm and bernard looked better against oscar than floyd. After the fight, oscar looked awful against forbes at 150. And, oscar was about as noncompetitive against pacquiao as you could imagine.

Cotto has been on the decline since mosley. Mosley had been on the decline since way before then. People were saying he should retire before he fought margarito, after he struggled mightily against mayorga.

Could Oscar have??? Margarito is a no talent cheater but the man brings the pressure ALL NIGHT LONG and he dont stop coming

I thought Cotto did an excellent job with him, dominated the fight and bust him up in the process. Against what is essentially his nightmare style too. Cotto's weakness is pressure (he fights well under pressure IMO but its the weaker part of his game), Floyd Mayweather May bring pressure or he may box on the back foot we will have to wait and see but his style is not nearly as much of a problem for Cotto as Margarito's was. Im not saying Floyd wont win, what im saying is if he does win its because he is the better fighter and not because he's a bad style match up for Cotto...
