completely diffrent class of fighters, martinez completely shits on calzaghe both in terms of ability and accomplishments. martinez gets overrated by some, hes got some flaws and holes in his game but hes still way better than calzaghe.

martinez is a great fighter who fights the best, calzaghe was a good fighter who went to great lenghts to avoid the best fighters of his time. very diffrent scenarios.
Fights the best? His last two fights were against Barker and Macklin.

And he didn't really start fighting the best till he was in his mid thirties with nearly 40 fights....pretty much similar to Calzaghe.

martinez was avoided, calzaghe was avoiding. big diffrence.

what matters more is that once martinez did start fighting the best he put together a resume far superior to that of calzaghe.

martinez fought macklin and barker bcuz he couldnt get anyone better, unlike calzaghe who could have fought chad dawson in wales but chose to have a exhibition with roy jones' corpse instead.

Avoided by who? Martinez was just an unknown fighter who fought predominantly at home and couldn't get big fights. Similar to Calzaghe. Who did Calzaghe avoid in his division? It was not very deep and he tried to fight Hopkins who ducked him.

And how is his resume "far superior". Paul Williams and Pavlik?

And no Martinez fought Barker and Macklin because they were easy fights. Couldn't get anyone better? LOL. Calzaghe didn't fight Dawson for the same reason Martinez hasn't fought Pirog

martinez was avoided bu everyone, not ducked but avoided meaning there was no real need to fight him but they were happy to avoid the risk.

he blatantly ducked glen johnson and chad dawson, he ducked hopkins, waited til he thought he was finished, got his ass whupped and ducked him again.

thinking closer about it martinez' resume isnt much better than calzaghes, they are about the same.

martinez should fight pirog, true. but its not as blatant a duck as calzaghe and dawson. dawson would have fought calzaghe anywhere for damn near any money but calzaghe simply wanted no part of him. pirog wants a better deal though which makes it very low profit yet high risk for martinez. dawson was high risk and high reward and joe still bailed.

Hopkins ducked Calzaghe. This is common knowledge. And how did he "wait till he was finished"? Hopkins is still the LHW Champ of the world now!

And LO...***ing L at Chad Dawson being "high reward". Now you're just trolling. The boy had just been whipped by Glen Johnson. He wasn't even in the running to be Calzaghe's last fight.

And also Martinez was offered very big money to fight Pirog.

You are wrong on so many levels.

you got to be ****ting me lol.

Darren ****ing Barker is a type of fighter Joe would have fought earlier in his career on the British and Euro scale and he would have hammered him with ease, same for Macklin.

Paul Williams basically had a 50/50 fight with Martinez first time round (gave nod to Martinez) and he's just a wreckless big southpaw who throws 1000s of punches, that's a good fight to gauge how a Calzaghe vs Martinez fight would go.

I dislike Calzaghe as much as anyone (Well, almost ) but there is simply no way that Sergio Martinez has a better resume than him.
