I forget that most of Boxingscene has only been watching boxing since 2008/9 and only probably only ever watched about 5 different fighters fight more than once.
Hey I voted for Pernell.........And it looks like I'm the only one.

How on earth does a fighter become P4P in any year by beating a guy who is coming off a loss, beating a guy who got KO'd and coming off a year suspention, beating a guy who is coming off a draw to Mora, then getting outboxed by a 38 year old light weight? Its really a joke if you think about it.

The fact that he is rated CURRENT P4P king is a joke, let alone last 20 years. That goes to Floyd, Pea, or Roy.

People forget Pacquiao started out at 106lbs and was a world titlist at 112lbs.

Put in that light, and that he never had a red carpet entrance in to the sport like Mayweather, you have to respect Pacquiao's achievements.

Mayweather has the talent, but he just isn't active enough and has turned down too many challenges over the years to really win my respect as the P4P greatest of his era. Pacquiao chewed on his leftovers to get a fight with him, now he's reduced to chewing on Pacquiao's leftovers to avoid it. He fights Cotto long after Cotto was hot property. He waited until Mosley got old. He drags Marquez up 2 weights then weighs in over the contractual limit. He just doesn't give a **** and it's going to count against him in annuls of history.

I mean, when Mayweather was fighting Castillo, Corley, and Gatti, at the same time Pacquiao is fighting JMM, Barrera, and Morales. It's just not comparable, unfortunately for Floyd.

I give a lot of credit to Floyd for fighting Corrales, De La Hoya, and Hatton, but outside of those 3 his resume is pretty weak for a self proclaimed GOAT.

Pacquiao's career extends way beyond what you just described, you ignoramous.

The main asset about the guys he fought recently, Marquez aside, is that they are proven elite fighters at welterweight and bigger than him - quite significantly in the case of Margarito.
