  • Is Pacquiao the great P4P King of the modern era?

If Pacquiao stays unbeaten this year he will more than likely be the P4P King for 5 years on the trot.

Pacquiao already leads the way in the as the fighter that tops the Ring P4P annual rating, with 4 titles to his name.

5 will put clear daylight between him and the rest, and with him likely to fight in 2013 he could make it to 6 twice as much as anyone else on the list.

    2012 ???????????????
    2011 Manny Pacquiao
    2010 Manny Pacquiao

    2009 Manny Pacquiao
    2008 Manny Pacquiao
    2007 Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    2006 Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    2005 Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    2004 Bernard Hopkins
    2003 Roy Jones Jr.
    2002 Bernard Hopkins
    2001 Shane Mosley
    2000 Shane Mosley

    1999 Roy Jones Jr.
    1998 Oscar De La Hoya
    1997 Oscar De La Hoya
    1996 Roy Jones Jr.
    1995 Pernell Whitaker
    1994 Pernell Whitaker
    1993 Pernell Whitaker
    1992 Julio Cesar Chavez
    1991 Julio Cesar Chavez
    1990 Julio Cesar Chavez

    1989 Mike Tyson

    Tyson x1
    Hopkins x2
    De La Hoya x2
    Mosley x2
    Chavez x3
    Whitaker x3
    Jones Jr x3
    Mayweather Jr x3
    Pacquiao x4

What is clear is that Pacquiao is the most dominant, but is he the greatest?

Just an little update, cause of NChristo comment

Pretty sure KO Magazine had Marvin Hagler #1 p4p for 5 years, 83 - 87, unless your counting him as before our era but still going all the way back too 89 anyway ?.

Glenn Trowbridge and Dave Moretti would disagree with you.

And like it or not he will be the P4P KING at the end of the year giving him 5 titles, clear daylight between him and the chasing Pac.

2011? You mean the year that Pacquiao beat a washed up Mosley and lost to a 38 year old lightweight?
