Maskaev is deserving because he knocked Rahman out of the ring and by the wbc's own rules, he earned the #1 ranking wheather you like it or not.

By that logic, Etienne and Shufford deserve title shots because they beat Brewster 5 years ago.

I don't care about ANY of the ABC rankings, and neiter should you if you cared the least bit about seeing a turn around in the heavyweight division.

There needs to be a unified champion, and that's not going to happen by allowing undeserving fighters to tie up a half year getting undeserved title shots.

If Wlad fights Brewster, Ray Austin becomes Chris Byrd's #1 contender.

Then why even sanction the Maskaev vs Sam fight as a #1 contender fight?? It's false advertisment is what it is and the WBC should be sued.

It WASTES more YEARS of time watching useless fights.

Wheather you like it or not, with the title holders and Toney and Wlad,

if someone wins enough fights to unify those titles, they're on top.

And that's what's needed beyond anything else.

There is nothing you can say that will prove Maskaev getting a title shot is good or productive for the division.

It's a joke, and he has no busniess being anywehre near the top spot in the 1st place.

maskaev deserves it, but its not the best fight and nobody wants to see it, (at least i dont, i dont want to see any fight involving rahman and if i have to id prefer to see my hometown fighter james toney do the job)

There are FOUR differnet corrupt bogus major ranking organizations.

If some uninforemed ignorant fans cried about every instance of them not making informed and just rankings within there own rules, NOTHING would EVER get accomplished.

The bottom line is that Maskeav has NO BUSINESS being ranked anywehre near the top of the division.

The fact that he's not getting a title shot is a GOOD THING for the fans and the integtrity of the division.

The only way to restore the liniage at this point is for the major straps to be unifed.

Bozo, make up your mind. We need a real champion. HW should go through the same thing as the LHW went through a little while ago. Remember when Tarver and Johnson decided to fight each other and forget about the belts? That was one hell of a gesture, IMO.
