Anyone who praises that style and way of winning is only doing it cause they like the fighter doing it. He should have been deducted atleast 2 points
It amazes me that the same fans b!tching and complaining about Molina will give praise to other boring fighters like Mayweather, Winky and BHOP. While they are more refined it's only holding when you have a crappy record and it's "being intelligent in the ring" when you have a winning record.
In the end, Kirkland did not impress at all. The sign of a great fighter is not letting the other guy dictate the pace or fight. Kirkland had 2 hands and did nothing with them. Excusing it because of Molina's smothering style is just straight lying to yourself.
I've also heard people say Kirkland should fight Martinez or Canelo. You serious? Not in the same class at all. Kirkland should fight Williams to find out where he really is. Molina should rematch Lara and end that controversy once and for all. If they both win then get that rematch.

Most boxing fans are prisoner of the moment.
When Kirkland was KO'd by Ishida, it was that Kirkland was a hype job and overrated. He'll never win a big fight again.
When he KO'd Angulo, he was all of a sudden a threat to Sergio Martinez and would smoke any 154 lb guy.
Now he struggles with Molina for 7 out of the 10 rounds, and it's Kirkland is a bum and Canelo will beat him.
The truth always lies somewhere in the middle. Kirkland is still a top 154 lb fighter, and aside from Lara and Cotto, he has a shot to beat anyone at 154. Yes, he still has a shot to beat Molina. He just has to throw more and push Molina off him when he tries his holding "technique", like James did in the 10th.
Kirkland is no threat to a Sergio or Floyd, never has been, and won't be until he shows he can consistantly beat good fighters like Angulo, Molina, etc.

The whole reason why this matchup was supposed to exciting is that Molina is usually a high activity boxer that fights 3 minutes a round.
